Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Dreamer,
Suggest going into the portal and choosing the APAP without a prescription. You can always enter the settings yourself. (Hold the button while swiping down over the screen on a DS2). Nothing to verify.

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I took my System One apart yesterday to check the foam before sending it back. It looked pristine. FedEx has it now, and this bit is now over for me. Thanks to all for contributing and helping the process.

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

He could go to the portal This is what worked for me. Emails stopped coming, and phone calls did little. This thread taught me I should use the portal. First to reject the $50 payout, then that a prescription was required to be faxed, then that doctor contact was required. Finally the offer of an A...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

It came! Almost a month ago! I was out of town at the time, and my son hid the package in plain site among some packages containing gardening stuff for my wife. I finally noticed it yesterday. Too late to request a DS1, I received a DS2. I agree with some of the negatives listed, but they are tolera...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Glad I requested new DS1 replacement for my DS1 machines as the DS2 was definitely redesigned to take cost out of manufacturing with almost all the operations via a touch screen instead of the easier to use knob and buttons on the DS1 (especially in the dark at night). How does one make this reques...

Re: Gas Stoves and Apnea

We bought a gas home not long ago. I was surprised to find the range hood blew right back into the kitchen. I checked with the building officials and they confirmed it was code compliant. Any size gas water heater is vented outside, but a six burner stove top on top of a self cleaning gas oven is no...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?

"May" is a funny word in this context. Note they did not say it "won't be replaced." Safety recalls have nothing to do with warranty lengths. Manufacturers making unsafe products need to make it right. It is true your System One won't be replaced with a System One, since they no longer produce them....

Re: Best CPAP backup battery?

I have pair of Freedom V2s. My only outages have been simulated, but they seem to do the job. Pluses: No extra power brick needed, they use the Resmed brick for charging. When placed side by side, they fit under my CPAP nicely. Since it is a CPAP product, and not an automotive device; I was able to ...

Re: Very High Uncontrolled Pressure ResMed Airsense

Now to deal with one of my old spare machines, a Philips recall. It is over 5 years service so Philips offers no replacement, but they may offer some payment to return it to a DME. My new local DME, 2 miles from me, is a place it can be taken. Waiting on the fax from clinic to DME, to get all in pl...

Re: Difficult Airway.

Based on the frog's post, I just added OSA to the medical ID on my iPhone's Health app. This info can be accessed without unlocking the phone, so it should be accessible to EMTs when they arrive. A lot more info can fit here than on a bracelet.

Faxed the prescription as directed by the patient portal. Called to answer questions as directed by the patient portal several weeks ago.
Today, the patient portal cannot find my record, either by confirmation code or serial number.

Re: Heated Hose with No Humidifier?

Thanks for the knowledgeable replies. I'll have to set a "signature" with the missing data. I have a Resmed Airsense 11. And, I should have mentioned, the reservoir heat is turned off. That's where my question comes in, what if I left the hose heat on? This is where physics comes in, I guess. If th...
