You have two threads regarding this. You might want to go in and delete the other one -- to keep everything consolidated.

I haven't used a Bi-Pap, but either of these Autos would be good.

I have the respironics auto M series bipap and am very happy with it.
However I've not tried any others.

Sleepyjane, Respironics is the only company which makes automatic BiPAP machines, so your choices are quite limited.

There is the older model which has been available for a year and a half now. See it here:

And there is the newer model. See it here:

The differences are mainly cosmetic. Choose the one you like the looks of or are comfortable with.

Regards,
Bill

Bill,

this was most helpful to find out only respironics makes auto bipap...this helps so much as does finding out the differences are mainly cosmetic and when they came out.

I do remember my provider telling me the new cpap I got a month ago when my old cpap broke and while I am waiting to see if the doctor will write a prescription for auto bipap instead of autopap that he mentuioned the vaporizers were interchangeable with the machine I have and he'd just change the machine so I am pretty sure the new machines is from respironics which it seems the company specializes in as I have only been offered/using respironics products for the last 15 years.

Since they are the same essentially, I will be confident either will be of help. I think I mentioned the m series in the letter to the doctor requesting he consider changing the order from remstar auto with c flex to autobipap and the provider is standing by while we see if doctor is willing to change the prescription. I sure hope he is willing to give me auto bipap especially since I am retaining carbon dioxide in my lungs and this seems the ideal solution and it is covered by insurance according to my provider.
