Re: (2)..Low Hour Airsense 10 Autosets...FOR SALE
I’m new to forum. My S9 VPAP Adapt is now over 20000 hours and I am immersed in the process to get a new machine...two weeks, two visits to Dr. and DME. NO machine!
I’d be willing to purchase either one of yours if still available. Tried sending a PM, but I’m too new to the forum.

You can send PMs now but please note....these machines won't do what your S9 VPAP Adapt will do.Ol’ Sourdough wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 7:45 pmI’m new to forum. They are regular cpap/apap models and they aren't geared for treating central apneas which is the main reason people use the Adapt.

Re: (2)..Low Hour Airsense 10 Autosets...FOR SALE
Thanks for your reply!
One of the questions I have about my treatments Is that the sleep Dr. prescribed setting my Adapt to CPAP at 8 CmH20!
My AHI ranged from low of 1.13 to high of 39.91. That seemed to be wide range and overall, seems like I’m not getting the therapy I need.
I have downloaded Oscar and am attempting to format for posting.
Probably best to start a new thread?

Re: Low Hour Autoset and VAUTO...FOR SALE
None of the AirSense 10 models are designed to treat central apnea. None of them will do anything at all for dealing with central apneas....they can't....not within the abilities of the machine to do what is needed to best deal with central apneas.
Now there are a couple of AirCurve 10 models that can treat central apnea and the best one is the ASV model.

Re: Low Hour Autoset and VAUTO...FOR SALE
I see the Air Curve10 ASV runs around the $4500 CAD amount. Must be gold plated. Do you know at what CA levels that would be an appropriate option to consider?

Re: Low Hour Autoset and VAUTO...FOR SALE
I haven't ever seen a specific number but generally ASV is considered when the centrals are numerous and create a problem either with sleep or oxygenation levels. It takes an average of 5 per hour over the night to earn the central diagnosis though. Less than that and most docs won't do anything. And they have to be real asleep centrals and not awake/arousal false positive centrals. If we aren't asleep they simply don't count.
In the case of where someone starts out with plain OSA and when they start cpap therapy they start getting centrals...and earn the complex sleep apnea diagnosis....sometimes the centrals will fade with time, sometimes they reduce to a number where they really aren't a problem so nothing needs to be done and people just go on with regular cpap therapy.
So it really all depends on just how much of a problem the centrals are. Occasional centrals are normal and no big deal and nothing needs to be done about them anyway. There is a lot to be factored in when it comes to centrals besides just the number though before docs will step up to the ASV machine.
Less than 5 per hour average...nothing needs to be done unless they are causing oxygen level drops or extreme sleep disruption.
5 to 10 per hour average...again most of the time they are just watched unless they are causing a problem.
Over 10 per hour average on a consistent basis...night after night...that's when I would look closely and have a chat with the doctor as to the actual need to deal with them.
Over 20 per hour....I would be buying an ASV machine if it were me....no talking about it.
The above is just my opinion.....as always...talk it over with your doctor if you have a concern about centrals that are real asleep centrals.
