Same here, I was fitted by a gal that last worked at a G.M. engine plant. She was a Deeallfitter.

At Lincare, she just tosses you a box, and says, Dee Will Fitter! :D Jim

Maturity is the ability to stick with a job until it's finished; the ability to do a job without being supervised; the ability to carry money without spending it; and the ability to bear an injustice without wanting to get even. I still am working on it.

My mask refit was a joke. I said my Activa large was too big, so she pulled out a comfort gel small and handed it to me. That was pretty much it.

Wow..I use Lincare and the LPN spent over an hour discussing different masks and then trying the fit. On my statement, it showed "mask fitting", No Charge. I've had pretty good luck with my local Lincare. 8)

I have Apria. They got me the hybrid and optilife masks. Both times the RT didn't even know how to assemble the mask! I assembled them and showed the RT how to adjust the headgear!

difference in clinican

Postby TonyL on Tue Feb 20, 2007 6:29 am

I recently had to get a new machine. the first clinican she took out three resmed machine to finally call someone else that the cpap machine only went to 20 then had to order a VPAP to get my 23/18 needed. then gave me a large full face mask and said as I use it it will conform to my face and seal properly. After two nights and looking through this forum I called and that clinican was replaced the day after I got the large mask. the new clinican invited me in and fitted me with a medium. What a difference. the new clinican then called me the next day to see if I had a better night, which I did. A lot of times I find people are not dedicated to there jobs to make the customer happy, they have that just get rid attitude and collect a pay check.

My local Lincare is not bad either. They have not really called or anything, but then I do not really want them to either. I would rather get my questions answered here by others who use the equipment.

I basically use Lincare for replacement cushions and filters. If I need/want a new mask, I buy out of pocket and then if it works order it from Lincare when I am up for a new mask (that way I have a back up mask of the same type). One thing that I like about them is the automatic supply program, I get two cushions a month and whatever else I sign up for (filters, hose etc) without having to call the local office to order it.

I work for Lincare and I'm glad to hear that most people have had positive experiences with them. Thanks for the input.

Most people on this thread did not report a positive experience with Lincare.

Other's did not mention Lincare:

As for TonyL:he met a clinician - fortunatel replaced later - who did know a simple machine from a bi-level. And that fool of person was let loose on people who have a medical problem.

If "guest" is not a troll, then guest is proof that Lincare puts up with employees who would rather attempt to fool people than to solve problems.

Aw, come on, Ozij. "Guest" saw a complimentary to Lincare post, and since he/she works for Lincare, he/she was glad to see it.

So far, we see a LOT more complaints about Apria than about Lincare.

ON THE OTHER HAND, it DOES seem like the smaller DME suppliers seem to do a better job than the national ones. But in all fairness how many offices do these national DME suppliers have? The sleep medicine "industry" in the US is in pretty dismal shape as far as education and support obviously.

Since Guest posted his reply on a thread that was over a year old -- he must have felt compelled to find a way to give Lincare a plug.

Although I must admit that Lincare has treated me better than a locally owned DME that was a complete nightmare to deal with.

I am a Lincare manager in southern Indiana as also an RT. If like any business if you feel you were not treated or fitted in this case fairly call the office and ask for the manager as discuss the matter with him or her. Lincare employee's great caring people BUT some times they burn out or get a bad attitude. As a manager i can only fix a problem when i here about it. just a note that only a State licenced RT, LPN or RN should be taking care of your CPAP or Bi-PAP. Would you let a plummer work on your car?

At my local Lincare I ask to get a different chin strap and they tell me thats all they have and her boss won't let her order nothing at this time. The one I have leaves a mark under my chin and loosen it up my mouth comes open.
