Replacement machines
Replacement machines
..My auto pap matching finally took a dump. I’ve had this machine for about 5 or 6 years. When I first received the machine, insurance covered 90% of the cost. Since then my jobs insurance has gone down hill every year. Now, it turns out I’m responsible for 100% until my family deductible is met (currently $2600). I’m having hell trying to sleep since it died on me. I know secondwind sells used, but they are pricey for my setup. I had a Resmed auto CPAP with heated humidifier. I really need a replacement machine ASAP. Anybody know any good sources? This sucks because both my wife and I work full time - County employees for 20+ years and our once excellent insurance has left us really in a bind. We make too much to qualify for government assistance yet don’t have disposable cash. To make matters worse, I know without a doubt my wife has sleep apnea and will need a sleep study and machine of her own. Any suggestions? Other than a go fund me page, we have zero options. Thanks-

Re: Replacement machines
Thanks for the reply and offer. Found out if I get through my insurance, I actually get a cheaper than buying outright and it counts towards my deductible. They are giving me a Airsence 10 with Quattro FX FFM for $600. They told me if I didn’t go through my insurance the machine would cost around $900 plus the cost of the mask.
Also, they said there have been new FFM that came out since I started with the Quattro FX, so I’ll get to try a couple of the new FFM’s to see if I like them better.

Re: Replacement machines
Make sure it's not the Airsense 10 CPAP model. It doesn't have much more than your total AHI for data. The other models are:
Airsense 10 Autoset (has both auto and cpap modes)
Airsense 10 Autoset for Her ( in addition to above has a 3rd for Her mode but it's not just for females)
Airsense 10 Elite ( only has the cpap)
These 3 are full data capable but the Autosets give you more options for your money.
Insurance pays by code which is the same no matter which model you get.

Re: Replacement machines
I’m pretty sure it’s the Airsense auto 10 because it’s replacing a auto CPAP
Re: Replacement machines
If you have auto pressures ordered your probably right. But just so you know, sometimes DME's can be tricky!
Also don't accept the AirStart 10 APAP! No Data.
