Treatment going well so far

Post by Mike A » Tue May 22, 2018 12:49 pm

Hi all, I have known I have had some sort of sleep disorder for some time now, my wife would always tell me she hears me choking at night and waking myself up.

I decided to get a sleep study done at home and I was told I had 30 events an hour.

Not really knowing what all that meant I went online and found this site, my insurance deductible wasn’t yet met so I was able to obtain a Philips system one auto at a really good price.

I started using it and went through a few masks and settled on the dreamwear mask with nose pillows, took a little getting used to but now I really like it

My next step was learning about sleepyhead, WOW how awesome! After some tweaking of my settings I am now using 8.0 as a low and 16 max, it never goes that high though but I’m still considering going up to 8.5 as a starting point.

My AHI is now below 2 most nights, I wake up feeling great and am not tired all day like I used to be.

Thanks all for all the great stuff you spend the time to post, it is greatly appreciated by many that still lurk.

Also please chime in if you think there is an adjustment that should be made, gradually going up from 6.0 to 8.0 has lowered my AHI quite a bit.

I feel the dreamwear mask needs a little more pressure than the full mask I started with. Thanks

Please don't take sideways pictures of your screen.
Please review the links in my sig and post properly arranged screenshots.

 This is a first for me, seeing someone actually taking pics of their screen... New meaning to "screen shot"

I'm trying to help you, but you have to provide *READABLE* images... f12 on the computer, and upload it.

You are doing great - congratulations.
Setting your minimum at 8.5 may lower your AHI but I don't know if you will feel the benefit.
Trying is the only way to know.

Ya I was on my way out the door and it was quicker.

It’s pretty readable IMO, this is a tough crowd here LOL

I'm not sure how these browsers work for everyone, but when I clicked on each image and opened it up in a new tab, each graph was oriented correctly.

Yeah, same here. Images were sideways until I clicked on it and then it was like it should be.
I don't know why they showed up sideways using the attachment feature here....this is the first time I have see this happen..the sideways thing.
