Hybrid Mask

Post by chapa.r » Mon May 21, 2018 3:44 pm

Hello, New to the board here. I recently got my cpap machine and i love it. I have made my memory and concentration come back. I am a mouth breather so the tech gave me the Resmed F20 mask. I like it, it's comfortable. Unfortunately, I have what some people say a "larger nose" My wife tells me she can hear a leak around the bridge of my nose. I can't just use the nasal pillow kind. I was looking at the hybrid mask, specifically, the Liberty by Resmed. When i called my doctor to see about getting that one she said its outdated and needed to check to see if they even had it. I'm sorry but I'm new to the cpap family. Can anyone recommend a hybrid mask they may use? Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest looking at this very new and latest hybrid type of mask that Respironics just released.

Otherwise the only other hybrid types are the ResMed Liberty and the Innomed/Respcare Hybrid...both of which have been around a long time. They were available when I first started therapy 9 years ago.

Funny--cpap.com sells it.
I would suspect that your doctor is "slightly mistaken".

I used to use the Amara View mask which is similar to a hybrid. It fits under the nose and covers the mouth. I have recently switched to the Dreamwear full face mask, and like it much better than the Amara View.
