SleepyHead Mask Specs Needed

Post by prodigyplace » Sat May 19, 2018 6:08 am

All,

Mark is working on a new preferences panel for SleepyHead. He would appreciate any mask data to help complete his chart.

Leak max at 20 or 25 cmH2O?

Anyhow, for the F&P Opus 360:

Good question. Mark clarified the values he wants are 4 cm & 20 cm.

Thanks

So for the the Opus 360 these would be about 19.5 and 46.5 L/min. Probably can round the numbers.
Respironics DreamWear Gel Pillows provides graph only. Flow at 4 and 20 would be about 18 and 45 L/min.

Technically, those are flow rates. Sometimes, they are informally called vent rates. Leak rate is air flow that does not travel through the mask vents.

For the Wisp mask (Philips Respironics):
Flow rate: 17.5 SLPM at 4 cmH2O ; 41.25 SLPM at 20 cmH2O
Info interpreted from the pressure flow curve graph supplied in the Instructions for Use manual; no textual explanation provided, like yrnkrn mentioned for the DreamWear Gel Pillows.

All other specifications given in the manual: (don't know if they are relevant, but here they are anyway)
Resistance: Drop in pressure at 50 SLPM = 0.8 cmH2O; at 100 SLPM = 3.2 cmH2O (for all sizes)
System One Resistance Control: X1
Deadspace volume: Size P = 37 mL ; size S/M = 49 mL ; size L = 73 mL ; XL (adult only) = 85 mL
Sound Levels: A-weighted Sound Power level 27 dBA ; A-weighted Sound Pressure Level at 1 m 19 dBA

Shutting, with careful fingers and benign,
Our gloom-pleas'd eyes, embower'd from the light,
Enshaded in forgetfulness divine

That mask list will be for users profiles masks only, so only they show up in Daily view's mask selection dropdown. There will perhaps be a lookup helper of the top 10/20 favourites floating around to help populate the list, but no more than that, (tbh, I ain't really got time for maintaining that list)... Users who skip adding their mask will have calcs done of a bog standard average "mask" which will still work.

I'm only really interested in @4cmh2O/@20chH2O values, some of those will require a calculation to get at.

I'm just planning on using a Linear Slope method, it's not flawless, but it's still way more accurate than any other method I've seen... Unless of course someone has the patience to show me how to do curve estimation stuff for it in raw maths/C++ code.

By the way, on the topic of Leaks, the Leak Redline/threshold @ 24 thing in Philips Respironics data that seems to confuse so many... Applies to (my calculated) Unintentional Leaks, not Total Leaks.. On the chart when displayed, the dotted redline coincidentally plots over the Total Leaks, which calc-wise, it has nothing to do with. 24 is a reasonable value for both PRS1 and ResMed, because it's roughly in the middle of the mask's intentional leaks graph range...

In 1.x.x, it's probably best to turn off Total Leaks plot, and then set the sliders in preferences to match your mask - or somewhere in the middle of your masks. (To turn off the plot, right click on the graph title, and look for Plots in the popup menu.) Total leaks will not be turned on by default in future versions.
