Re: blue blocker clip on for glasses
Let's say that it's late at night 25 years ago and your sleep apnea is keeping you awake. Huh? Awake? Doesn't it make you fall asleep? Just go with me here ...
I suspect many people on here are old enough to remember Joe Sugarman making late-night infomericals for BluBlocker sunglasses. His most famous one involved Dr. Geek on Venice Beach. Here's a short, poor quality, clip from youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Png-PC0ews
How is this relevant for CPAP? I dunno. Maybe if you wear blue-blocking sunglasses your apnea gets better?
I have prescription glasses (not sunglasses) with a slight blue tint to them. The opticians call them "computer glasses" or something like that. They do help cut down on blue light (this helps people focus), but the effect is relatively mild. They also have an anti-reflective coating which helps make the text on cpaptalk.com more readable for us old fogies.

--------------------------->
The short-wavelength blue light, emitted by the screens we watch, damages the duration, and even more so, the quality of our sleep. The study also found that watching screens that emit red light does not cause damage, and sleep after exposure to it was similar to normal sleep. ... Previous studies have already shown that watching screens before going to sleep damages our sleep. It has also been found that exposure to blue light with wave lengths of 450-500 nanometers suppresses the production of melatonin, a hormone secreted at night that is connected with normal body cycles and sleep.

. . . And some people are affected more profoundly than others;
while a few are barely affected at all.

I asked my optician about the blue blocking glasses and he said yes, it was a good idea to get them, but that the cheap clip ons were worthless. Talk to your friendly glasses guy.

Marketing 101, mine are better than yours, just break out the $$$. Where is the built-in Blue Blocker settings on our new T.V.'s and Computer Monitors, tech lagging a little? JimChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 12:17 pmWhat else would you expect him to say? "I can sell you blue filter glasses for a few hundred dollars, but the cheap clip ons are just as good."

Re: blue blocker clip on for glasses
I use the free program F.lux to reduce my exposure to blue light at night.
It will work on your computer or smartphone .
