Dreaming I can’t breathe

Post by Angelbmw » Sun Apr 22, 2018 6:05 am

I have been using AVAP machine with a Dreamwear mask for over a year with great results. However I had the “I can’t breathe dream “ this morning and I’ve only had that dream one other time in my life. I checked my AHI and it was 3.2. I’m a little freaked out as this is a scary dream.

One bad dream in a year of success should not be troubling. Relax - you are doing great. Keep up the good work and enjoy your day. :)

If your machine is data capable, use sleepyhead to look at what was going on during the dream.
Your AHI of 3.2 may be fine or maybe lousy. If they are happening in clusters during REM then your treatment may be inadequate.

I had that happen when my old machine died and I was waiting for a replacement. The 6 nights I have slept with my new machine I have not had any problems. I am far from being an expert but it almost sounds like you aren’t set at the right pressure.

+1 And check the duration of the events.
