Universal mini power adaptor?

Post by terrylai » Sat Apr 21, 2018 2:31 pm

I would like to get a much smaller power adaptor in replacement of the "brick" that comes with my Philips DreamStation when I am traveling oversea. I find it hard to find a smaller off brand adaptor that has a connector that fits my CPAP since they are usually way to small. Anybody has any recommendation on this?

Thanks!

Why risk your expensive medical equipment with oddball power sources?
If it is too *heavy*, use a cart. I am the biggest (4'10") wuss ever,
so I put wheels under everything.

I just checked our sponsor. Your power supply accepts 100 - 240 volts AC. It is the perfect one for traveling with the proper receptacle adapters.

My Resmed has a brick, but my Intellipap has the transformer built in.
All it needs is a cord--no brick.
I thought Respironics machines were the same--no brick.
Am I wrong? Never had a Respironics.
Edit: according to cpap.com, the AC adaptor is built in.
Is this a drive-by???

Not sure.

I did a search that took me to here

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-dre ... gLXK_D_BwE

Looking under Replacement Parts took me to here

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-dre ... upply.html

Looking under Specs:

AC Power Consumption (with 80W Power Supply): 100 - 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz,/ 2.0 - 1.0 A

All the Respironics machines I have ever owned..from the M series to the PR S1 50 series and the 60 series all had the brick...and the DreamStation also has the brick.

ResMed added the brick with the S9 I think...I never had the S8.

I think that the OP in this thread wants a smaller brick or to do away with the brick and I don't think that is possible.
The connection from the brick end of things to the machine...I bet Respironics made it so that nothing but their bricks and connectors will work.

Proprietary, yes, I believe it.
I have always been impressed with the power configuration on my Intellipap--
It looks like a standard plug. Too bad it's not more popular.
