Lincare is Rude & Incompetent

Post by CorvetteKid » Tue Apr 17, 2018 11:51 am

Thanks Trump for downgrading Medicare CPAP supplies re-ordering.
Medicare recently changed the company that we have to deal with to re-order CPAP supplies thru Medicare. The old company was American Home Patient. The new company is Linncare. What a joke even in the name containing "Care". They are so incompetent, it is unbelievable. I am on my 4th attempt thru them to re-order my CPAP. I started 3 mos. ago; never received anything. Tried again about 3 weeks ago to re-order for myself and my wife who has the same CPAP devise. They finally shipped a partial and wrong order for my wife, but nothing for me. My wife received the wrong tubing, no mask as authorized & ordered. The order for myself was non-existent per the rude Representative.
I called yesterday to inquire; unfortunately a very rude woman came on the line. She was very condescending and obnoxious that she would not give me the chance to even answer her questions; she just talked all the time. Her Customer "Care" skills were non existent. When I asked her when she would allow me to talk, she just hung up on me.
I called again today; I was on hold for at least 15 minutes. I asked to speak to a Supervisor. My call went right to Voicemail and I couldn't even get the persons name because of her very poor & garbled greeting.
I will repost when that person ever responds to me.

I use Lincare, Trump never had them change mine, your plan must have been crap, so they found something crappier for you. Jim

Barb, I have had very good service from Norco, I think the quality of service is dictated by the local branch manager.

I figure as far as Trump goes, he does plenty, don't need to blame him for stuff that is not his fault.

no offense to you but the same thing happened to me.... I had Apria for over 12 years and medicare cancelled my using them..... they moved me to American Home Patient and they are the worse nightmare possible.... It took me 4 months to actually have them accept me and give me an account number,,, two more months to get my New machine and they screwed up the order of the heated hose ...

Luckily Health Care Solutions took them over and I got moved to them.....

However I keep getting letters from American Home patient threatening me to pay for the new machine and they are double billing medicare for everything I get from Health Care Solutions.... it has been over a year since I got moved from Apria and the billing and letter sending is still a big mess and all screwed up.....

It must just be the people in the area that make or break a company and I wasn't lucky with those people....

Health care solutions are trying to clean it up but no luck so far.....

I also had a bad experience with Lin(Don't)Care. The local people were very unhelpful. If you order supplies, they hound you to order whatever insurance permits.

On the plus side, I was able to make contact with a competent person there who handles their clams. She was able to untangle a few messes for me.

I initially tries auto shipment of supplies. My first shipment included a humidifier tank, a mask, & filters. Medicare permits tank replacement every 6 months. My insurance is "as needed". I have been using my original tank for well over a year and many people only replace it if it leaks.

I am in the middle of trying to transfer to another DME.

All i can say is I fell your pain and good luck.

Often there are small "mom & pop" stores that sell CPAP and other respatory equipment. They may not be on the approved Medicare Directory , but they take Medicare. There are several in my area that are not on the Medicare Supplier Directory that accept Medicare. I have been using one for years. They are great to work with and bend over backwards to help. Check your "yellow pages"(Yes there still is one) under Respatory Supplies.

If you live in an area that is covered by the Medicare competitive bid program, you have no choice but to use the Medicare approved DME. I have been using an on line supplier that is Medicare approved, but the last supply order I submitted was filled by Linn Care. I asked for two mask cushions, and a head gear for me, and the same for my wife. We received identical items: 1 complete mask, 1 water chamber, 1 climateline hose, and two filters. I called my DME and insisted they give me UPS return labels so I can return the unordered items. I am waiting to see if the items show up on my quarterly Medicare statement. If they do, I am going to place fraud claim with Medicare against the DME. I am currently looking for a local supplier I can work with.

While folks have things to say, I personally think CorvetteKid is just a troll. That person joined today to just complain. Very trollish, wouldn't you say?

He is not the first person to have problems with Linn Care, and I seriously doubt he will be the last.

for the most part, they're doing ok. I have a HECK of a time getting through to the DME lady though. They have hired an assistant to her, which helps. Got to speak to her yesterday. They have messed up a couple of orders, but in 12 years I suppose that's pretty good :)

Many have come here primarily to vent about their provider, DME or other.
Let it be understood that they will be preaching to the choir, at least mostly..
It is a dirty business, which sometimes attracts the worst sort.

This is a great link to have! I got mine from Aerocare and they were fantastic. I had no idea however about all the providers I could have used.
