Many things make a person feel he sleeps better. But without NPSG documentation, it is just a feeling. Not saying one way or the other. Just saying that "it makes me sleep better" does not carry weight scientifically or anecdotally in the sleep-treatment community. Feeling that one is sleeping better and proving one's sleep is actually measurably better are two very, very different things.

. . . any kind of relief.
That pallet-of-twinkies thing sure sounded awfully tempting.

One of them was I. (Stilted/pedantic pronoun choice out of fear of any spelling/grammar police who may be hovering undercover around here. ) I considered myself to have one great redeeming talent in life--sleeping. I could sleep anywhere at any time for as long as I wanted. I thought I was the king of sleep, and I was proud of myself for not having all the sleeping problems that everyone around me seemed to have.

Then I was put on PAP therapy. I couldn't sleep for longer than 90 minutes a night at first. My body had never experienced a full sleep cycle before, and it tried to be one-and-done with it every night, after the miraculous experience of uninterrupted REM. It took me weeks to be able to sleep a full night on PAP. If I had gone with my gut feeling, I would have wrongly concluded that I "sleep better" without using PAP. That would have been a life-ending conclusion on my part. Glad I was able to learn otherwise from sources of information such as posters here at cpaptalk.com. It's the education about sleep that seems to be lacking in how patients are just handed a contraption and told to try it 'to see if it helps.' It can appear to make things MUCH worse before it makes it all better.

They generally call it "choking on his own vomit" when apneas pull the stomach contents up into the lungs before a guy can wake up.

Thanks for the visual. And, right before lunch!

I sincerely wish no one had ever invented these blasted deadly little things. Because they most certainly do NOT treat my OSA:

I haven't had a Twinkie anything since I was a teenager. Had they looked like the picture you posted, that may not have been the case. This looks like French bakery pastry to me, which I have the hardest time resisting. A fav... a Neapolitan made by hand, generally in a French bakery -- actually, most anything they bake in a French bakery. The Cheesecake Factory ain't all that bad either. 8)

There used to be a French bakery downtown.
I always had the chocolate croissant.
A handful of mini dark chocolate chips was rolled up inside before baking.
Yum.

I can resist the fresh french bakery version. But if I see the mass produced packaged version in a grocery store somewhere (cream horn/twirl/twist), I have no choice but to drop my bag of vegetables and to turn and run screaming out of the grocery store to my car in order to have any chance of resisting those evil concoctions.
