The Respironics information I was reviewing was related to their ventilators. .
Did I stumble into ventusers.org by accident? *checks site title*
And no, their cpaps don't use the same technology as their ventilators.

What I have seen happen when I have the ResMed set to nasal pillows and I used the FFM (like the recent experiment with the DreamWear FFM) is the baseline leak rate is slightly elevated. Meaning I don't have a 0.0 leak line when there is obviously no leaks...it might start the whole thing at say 4 L/min and then any further leaks come off that line instead of 0.0 where I normally have the baseline with the P10.
FFM typically vent more at the same pressure than the P10 would. Not a huge amount more but a little more. When set to nasal pillows the ResMed still thinks it's dealing with the vent for a nasal pillow and expecting a little less...and thus the elevated baseline.
At least that has been my past experience when I have forgot to change the mask selection...the change is minimal in the baseline and that's why I don't worry about it. The worst that happens is the machine reports a little more leak than I probably had.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.
