Hose cozy. Fleece is nice--padacheek is zippered.
Fabric seems to have less appeal to cats than plastic tubing.
You can wrap ace bandage around the hose, and fasten with a ponytail band.

If the kitten is chewing on it, try wrapping the hose in aluminum foil. Only takes a few minutes, it's cheap, and cats usually hate the feeling of chewing on foil.

Also, cats don't like citrus smells, so if you can rub or even spray (from pet store perhaps) the rind of an orange, lemon etc on the hose without your being affected by it, might be worth trying.

You could try some of the bitters like apple, lemon etc. Very safe/innocuous, even organic/non GMO for use in, on and around humans & pets of all types. I've even hosed down an African Gray with it to stop him from plucking his own feathers as well as slippers, couch cushions, furniture et al over the decades. Been around well over a century and vailable at most well-stocked pet stores as well as Amazon etc. Available in liquid for filling your own spray bottle, aerosol sprays, plunger and dauber bottles. Has an acrid, bitter taste animals HATE! Fun to watch the faces they make when they get a taste tho!

Hi chantilly- I don't know much about kittens, but if you want a snuggle hose cover, I have a spare on I can send to you, if you think it will help. It has a zipper so it is the easy one to get on and off. Send me a PM with your address if you want it.

I love kitties, too, Chantilly.
Please give him/her an extra cuddle for me. :D
And ignore the cat hater.

Awww... peach... so sweet! What color is she? Peach color? Love kitties/cats... just so allergic to them. A dog (small poodle) is better for my allergies. How about a picture?

My thought is to armor plate it... it won't be as light and flexible as the slim hose is now, but, it'll be better protected from the viscous feline... Take a regular size hose (cheap off amazon/ebay) and cut a slit in it, OR get some of that split hosing that's used for wire bundles), and put that around your hose. (something like https://amzn.to/2uYC0Gc not sure that's the right size though) then, put a hose cozy over that...

Cat proof! :)
