Looks like maybe maybe 16 EPAP minimum is where you need to be on the DreamStation.
I think we solved the central question...mainly related to PS itself.
At some point you need to see just how comfortable you are at say 16 and then decide if you need PS for comfort at the higher pressures.
I think I see now why they gave you bilevel and using PS...anticipating comfort issues at those pressures.
Most people wouldn't have had the little side issue of PS triggering centrals. It was a logical assumption but you just are an outlier and usual stuff caused you a problem...the majority of people it would not have caused a problem.
We can probably tweak the settings enough so the DreamStation will take care of the obstructive stuff and not trigger the boatload of centrals by eliminating PS but I don't know how comfortable it will be to you to use 16 minimum (maybe even more) without PS helping in terms of comfort.
At least now there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Might as well use the Adapt for a bit and just to get a feel for it and see how it does things...and you might really like it and like it so much that you want to pursue maybe getting Medicare to buy you one. We can talk about that later.
But...it looks like that maybe with a little more EPAP your OSA can be well managed and not have centrals as long as you don't need PS for comfort at your pressures. Of course will need to try minimum of 16 to be sure at some point.

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
I was comfortable when I had it set to bipap 16/12. hopefully, auto 16 will work as well if I pursue that instead of the asv machine.
I will try the other one tonight... will call you sometime today

Yeah...12 EPAP and 16 IPAP...is comfortable.
Using 16 without PS so essentially 16/16 might not be so comfy. You can add BiFlex to help a little but it isn't going to be near the relief that the PS of 4 is.

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
when is a good time to call? it's Saturday and not sure if you have any plans.
I played around with the dials and instructions so understand a bit how to read the settings
(didn't change any settings lol)
I'll use it tonight. looking forward to it

Use the Adapt at the settings I set it at...and tomorrow we will evaluate those settings.
Minimum EPAP may need to be adjusted upwards but the ResMed algorithm for obstructive stuff and the Respironics algorithm is so different and adding in the quick response of PS...I just had to wing it.
I will be surprised if you need anything close to what you need on the DreamStation.
Gotta start somewhere though.
Oh...SleepyHead won't care about the new machine so just use the same profile.
Remember SD card must be in the S9 to get the detailed graphs...and if your computer is Windows 8.xxx or higher or a Mac..don't forget to lock the SD card before putting it in the computer and unlock it after you remove it to put it back in the S9.
The S9 is the only machine that cares if the operating system puts a little text file on that SD card.

Try a different SD card.
Prob 2
Sounds like the humidifier lid is not shut properly ? Or some other issue there. Press it poke it see if noise changes. Also check the Silicone Seal in the lid is in the correct place

No clue what you're talking about... I can barely hear mine when it's running... and that's only if the house is really quiet.Barb (Seattle) wrote: ↑Sat Apr 21, 2018 11:54 pmhissssssssssssssss pop. hissssssssssssssssss pop.

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
Well crap.
It was working fine here for me. I ran it for over 48 hours just to air it out since it had been packed away for a while.
And the machine accepted the SD card just fine too...I checked when I inserted it.

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
I will check the humidifier....something had to be loose....
the whoooosh was in my mask itself and also the other sound....sounded like that valve in my mask was opening and closing maybe?
it was so late last night when I came home, I just got the other machine back out really quick.
I'll try it again today while I"m awake...there's got to be something I did wrong.
your card had the "lock" word on it mine on my other machine doesn't...but the tab is always the same direction for locked and unlocked
on all the sd cards, right? not all of them say lock on them....
