However, the 12v cord for the s9 asv is different from the 12v cord for the aircurve10 asv... which is what you're more likely to end up with.
That is why I said don't buy anything just yet...
Indeed, just reinforcing the idea, and an idea why :)

I would try the RV inverter thing with the S9 in the driveway...and see if anything bad happens...like dead battery because the S9 sucked all the life out of it.
That's the problem with inverters, they take like twice the juice out of the battery that the 12v adapter cords do.
right, because if I understand it...there is another step in the process that just wastes energy. We didn't know that and used an inverter for a long time...the one in our motorhome. I would turn it on, then the machine would work. EVen with the humidifier...but the battery did die a lot and we had to run the generator to charge it.

I find that I"m still sleepy, even though (obviously I'm treated now):)

so..I googled and found this. Maybe it takes a while to feel better. I know one thing, It's been a year untreated as I had centrals that weren't treated adequately. I still keep looking at the sleepyhead data..wondering if there's a mistake. 0 apneas. zero :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you get Neuron damage from untreated sleep apnea?

Scientists found that long-term exposure to low levels of oxygen in mice results in sleepiness during the day that persists at least several weeks after the oxygen levels are restored.
This observation prompted the scientists to ask whether the neurons from the sleep control regions of the brain are damaged from long-term hypoxia (low oxygen levels).
The longer you had untreated sleep apnea, the more damage your neurons have.

Can The Residual Sleepiness Be Treated?

The good news is that the residual sleepiness will disappear in time.
However, the sleepiness decreased significantly with longer CPAP use:
Only 8.7% patients still had residual sleepiness using the CPAP 6 hours per night.

Exactly... anytime you convert from one kind of electricity to another, there's some efficiency, ie how much of the power gets converted, and how much is wasted as heat.

The Resmed converter is very efficient, (upper 90s in percentages, nothing is 100%)...

Many inverters are on the order of 50-60%, unless they're really expensive ones.

So, with an inverter, you lose power converting the 12v to 120v, then you lose some more (though not a lot) converting that back down to what the cpap needs.

Going with the 12v adapter for whichever type of cpap saves your batteries.

Boring is good when compared to the ugly you were having.

Plus going from your 14 to 16 minimum pressures to what it is now when you first start up the machine....like no pressure at all.
Not only does it fight a good fight when it needs to ....it does it at lower pressures to start with so you are more comfortable during the fight.

Win=Win all the way around.

it is sooooo comfortable at that pressure 8) 8) it was ugly, that's for sure. this has been so awesome. so.....how do I read the flow section? I see that it's got
some markings..have no idea what it means  it appears that it's just marking the hypopneas....what exactly is "flow"?

Flow rate is just your breathing but you can't tell much by looking at it at this scale. Too scrunched together.
Instead you have to zoom in and see it up close.

Go to the Events tab....then click on Hyponea category....the pick one of those hyponeas at around 5:00...click on it and watch the graphs on the right change. That's the level of zooming in that you need to use for flow rate evaluation.
You may or may not see much of a change in the flow rate around the time of the hyponea flag.
Remember that to earn a hyponea flag the flow reduction doesn't have to be all that much...like 30 or 40 percent and we might not be able to spot that small of a reduction with our eyeballs. I know I have seen some hyponea flag and zoomed in and sit here scratching my head.

As to why the little cluster...probably on your back and in REM. I wouldn't worry about it and I wouldn't try to do anything about it either.
This is your first one but won't be your last. You are going to have more nights with the near 0.0 numbers than like you had last night.

Barb
I just found this "blog"- not even sure if that is what its called. I don't use these sites until today. I made my first post today and am eagerly awaiting feedback. I still have ALOT to learn and am on a quest for better sleep. I had almost given up. but now I feel ver;y motivated to Learn everything I can despite using a CPAP m,achine for 2 yrs now w almost no benefit.
my ahi , depending on the night, ranges from 5-6.8. most days I must rest in afternoon and cannot do fun things in evening bc I am too tired. I guess I have MILD OSA but it doesn't feel mild.

I just wanted to say that if my machine read 0 as AHI I would cry tears of joy too!!! Congratulations! and hope your success continues. Sllep apnea sux!!!

Forum.

a "blog" (web log) is just some individuals ramblings on the web... their web diary, as it were.

A forum is a collection of different peoples post on a subject, like a meeting room.

Hey Gabnina

If it is too confusing do not worry about entering your equipment here right now.

We need to know the brand and model of your machine to determine whether it can provide the data to help you. The model of mask you are using can be helpful too.
For now you can just type in the information here.

We are here to help and guide you as needed. Although personalities are strong here, we really are a helping bunch.

If you choose "Text" in the equipment page is displays the equipment names like my signature. It is a personal preference but some prefer the names. It is your choice.
