And therein for me lies the attraction:
<<"Now it may not be or do what I think it will do but if it looks the least little bit interesting to me then I will try it when I can....just for grins if nothing else.">>
Gotta be an element of frivolity involved in all this. And if this turns out to be the biggest financial or time spent hit I take in life I got off vulgarly easy!

I read the other day about a new nasal mask that you tape to your nose each night.
It would cover the nostrils only, so nothing on the bridge.
I can't remember what it's called.

Experimenting isn't cheap but there are ways to reduce expenses. It involves some patience though...something I don't have all that much of myself.salinas212 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 9:51 amGotta be an element of frivolity involved in all this. When a new mask comes out and cpap.com offers it with free return insurance....if it interests me I will buy it.
If I hate it...I will usually know pretty quickly and I will offer it for sale at a discount here on the forum or return it.
Sometimes I buy from a forum member at a discount the mask they tried and hated and if I hate it too...it gets sold again to someone else wanting to try it.
My insurance only allows one new mask package per 6 months...if my DME has it (they rarely have the new mask until I tell them that it exists) I will get it from my DME because my DME has a liberal mask swapping allowing allowance (not all DMEs have a liberal mask swapping policy) and if I hate it I just swap it at the DME.
In the case of the new DreamWear Full Face mask...my DME didn't even know it existed but he was willing to contact the Respironics rep and ask for a Demo package...told the rep that someone wanted to try it and that's how I got the mask before it was publicly available anywhere....and I got it for free. So sometimes just asking works...but it took me 5 weeks from the time I asked until I got it...that's where the patience thing comes in.
Not all online sellers will be offering free return insurance with this new mask.
Cpap.com doesn't currently have it available so I don't know if it will be available with free insurance or insurance you might have to buy.
I don't know what the return policy might be for the couple of people who have this mask currently available. Haven't looked.
Eventually this new mask will be widely available and people will be trying it and not liking it and maybe selling at a discount or people can buy from cpap.com and use whatever insurance might be available.
Finally there is the donated option but it doesn't usually happen for new masks like this where people might have the option to get their money back. People do donate masks they don't want or need...sometimes even new ones but it's rarely a mask that is brand new to the market. I used to get some new stuff donated from a sleep lab but that source dried up...bummer. I guess I pissed off the guy who was sending me stuff. Sleep labs get new masks donated all the time and they have to make room....so I would get the over stock and then pass them along for free to people.
Watch the forum though....sometimes people will just decide to clean house and offer up for free or at a really low price their unwanted stock. That's how I got the bulk of my mask experiments back when I was first starting therapy. Free return insurance wasn't available back then and people would just give away their failed experiments. I was never bothered by slightly used because I can clean it and I was only wanting to try it for fun anyway....just for size or see how it was. Then I figured if I really liked it then I could spend the money and get brand new.
Oh...and yes...I have called some of these experiments some really bad names. The Wisp was one that got a blue name for sure.
I know people love it but I lasted only 90 minutes with it and it was the longest 90 minutes of my life. That one got returned to my DME because he was the one who talked me into trying it.

I think maybe it was the Bleep nasal pillow mask. Not exactly taped to the nose except it used little sticky tabs to adhere to the nostril.Arlene1963 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 10:12 amIs it this one that was discussed here last year?weroberts75 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 10:02 am

And yes...this one is on my radar to try just as soon as it actually goes into production but it's not there yet.
Rumor control.....maybe by this fall but I won't be holding my breath.
Jason over at freecpapadvice.com actually got his hands on the prototype and did a series of reviews on it.
I want one and I want it bad...but it's not even got passed all the FDA stuff yet and not in general production.
Some discussion here at this thread along with links to the videos (3 of them) about the Bleep.

Yeah, that's it. I hadn't seen the promo video from a year ago, with all of the bleeps and humor.Arlene1963 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 10:12 amIs it this one that was discussed here last year?weroberts75 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 10:02 am

What I saw was a more recent, slightly more professional video that explained how to fit and wear it.
