What happened to my data?
What happened to my data?
There's a huge blank in last night's data. As far as I know the machine was working. Any idea what might have happened?

Re: What happened to my data?
Hi SarahB,
It is very odd.
If we go by the 'Sleep' time SH gives and the 'Wake' time SH gives, the machine was used for 7 hours and 1 minute. But the 'Hours' given is only 42 minutes.
These are only guesses, but either:
1. The machine was running in normal fashion, and delivering treatment - but the SD card is faulty. Try with a different one.
2. The machine was running in normal fashion, and delivering treatment - but the on-board RAM is faulty. Insert a different SD card and use the machine for another night. See if it happens again.
As a confirmatory check, use a smart phone set to 'sound record' and placed next to the machine to verify that the blower is working throughout the night.
If there is no record in RAM a second time, take the machine back.
3. The machine ran for 36 minutes - and then stopped. You weren't aware of this. And then - equally unaccountably and equally unnoticed - the machine started again.
Test the same way as #2 above. And also by: how do you feel? Did you feel rested after the seven hours? Or was it like before you started treatment?
4. The machine works fine, the RAM is fine, the SD card is a fair and accurate account of what happened - and you reached out while asleep and turned the machine off. Some people do do that.
Then, while still asleep, you reached out and turned the machine on again.
One way to check for both #3 and #4 (short of making a video of yourself sleeping, or asking a partner to sit up and watch over you the whole night) is to make a note of the blower hours - that's like the 'how many miles has it done?' thing in a car.
Each night, as you turn in, check the blower hours, and the real-world clock time - and write both down. Then, in the morning, check the blower hours again and do the sums. And compare with the real-world clock time difference.
That's as much as I can think of - except maybe one other thing. I know that Scotland has been having quite a bit of snow this last wee while. Was there a power cut? I'm not too up on ResMed machines - but on my PR machine, the power can go off but the internal clock circuit has its own little re-chargeable battery and keeps time for several days.
Perhaps someone more familiar with ResMed machines can chip in here.

Re: What happened to my data?
Are you sure you dont have some sessions turned off in SleepyHead? If you scroll down on the screen you posted it should list the sessions on the left.
Does your machine tell you how many hours it was used last night like mine does? What does it say?

The machine told me I had been using it for 7 hours.

Re: What happened to my data?
Did you check on left hand side like I suggested to see if maybe there were other sessions but possibly they were turned off?

Re: What happened to my data?
SarahB,
If I can expand on kim49's post,
In the left hand column, the one with the pie-chart, if you scroll down to the very bottom, it says "Session information" - and there are one or more horizontal rectangles.
If you have one complete, uninterrupted sleep session, you get one rectangle - with a time inside it.
If you woke up, stopped the machine for a few minutes, and then started again, you'd have two rectangles. Each with a time inside it.
If you click once on any of these rectangles, that session disappears from the charts on the right, and the little 'slide-switch' indicator underneath the word "On" turns from black and green to red and black.
If you click on the session rectangle again, the charts all shows that session again, and the slide-switch indicator under "On" turns back to black and green again.
So ... what do you have under "Session information"? Is it one session? Or, as kim49 is suggesting, three sessions? With the middle one turned off.

Re: What happened to my data?
I'll check that when I get home. I'm on holiday at the moment without my laptop. There was just time to look at the results yesterday morning before I had to go for my train.
I tried to post yesterday as I'd had an idea, but it doesn't seem to have posted. Anyway, I remembered that I had checked to see if I had put the data card back in the machine and accidentally released the card then immediately pushed it back in. That would correspond with the time the recording stopped. The restart could be when I switched the machine off to see how many hours I'd been using it then switched on again for a bit more sleep.

Re: What happened to my data?
I experienced this with last nights data.
My AirSense 10 and MyAir indicated that I had some AHIs, but when I import into SleepyHead, it showed AHI of 0.0.
I deleted the days data (Mac):
-> Daily (ensure you are on day with AHI 0.0) / Data / Advanced / Purge current Selected day.
Reimported from the SD Card and the AHIs were there.

Why would you go on holday without your machine? Can't be having much fun!

Re: What happened to my data?
Julie I think she took her cpap but left the laptop at home so she can't see the detailed stuff.
She's getting her information (what she has available) from the LCD screen.

Re: What happened to my data?
Correct. I have my CPAP machine but no laptop so I can't look at the data card results.

When we travel, I do not take my lap top with me. It's bad enough taking luggage, two bilevel machines, and a nebulizer machine.

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.
Re: What happened to my data?
I'm traveling by train as I had to surrender my driving licence when I was diagnosed, therefore I'm limited in what I can carry. Not that I would have taken the laptop anyway.Okie bipap wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 4:16 pmWhen we travel, I do not take my lap top with me. I've no idea what the last three nights' data looks like. It's quite relaxing not to be checking results all the time.
