Recommendation on Full Face Mask

Post by Jerseyguy » Thu Mar 15, 2018 11:52 pm

I seem to be having leaks coming from a airfit p10, eson 1 nasal mask and an eson 2 mask. I want to do a mask exchange on the eson2 to a full face mask. I'd rather not have a large ffm more of a hybrid like the Amara view. Any suggestions??

There's no one mask that will suit everyone, but for me, changing to the Amara View was an excellent choice. Although it did take a little perseverance and fine tuning to get it right. Some have said it leaks too much, but I found that being a smaller mask I was able to reduce my pressures to eliminate leaks and still achieve an impressive AHI.

I used F&P simplus before trying the Amara View. The Simplus had a lot of lraks and blowing in my eyes, when I developed a sore on bridge of nose I switched to the Amara. I've been on the Amara for nearly a year. I notice it seems to leak more if I don't shave for several days, but that's my fault.

I found that my cushion started to leak after around 5 months, but I tried the boiling water and baking powder trick the other night and it has a new lease of life.

I really like the Simplus by Fisher & Pakel. It's easy to put together and use, comfortable. and easy to clean. I also like the quick disconnect feature.

Sorry, the Amara View drove me crazy. I could never get a good seal. I use the ResMed AirFit F20.

Amazing how every person is different. In my case I couldn’t get good seal with f10 but with Amara no leaks. And both with my trimmed beard.

Choosing mask is the most diffficult task in the whole CPAP adventure.

My leaking with the Simplus wasn't a wear thing, it did it with a brand new cushion. Problem went away with the Amara View. It has its leak issues but at least it doesnt blow in your eyes.

I've had very good luck with the Airfit F20, but stay away from the foam version. It is very comfortable and not prone to leaking, but they don't last.

Respironics is coming out with a new DreamWear FFM, I was actually able to snag one from another online vendor and it is easily my favorite FFM so far. Very minimal mask with nothing up near your eyes or on the bridge of your nose. I highly recommend it. https://www.sleepapnea.com/products/mas ... /full-face
