I personally think it sucks. (Excuse my language). We pay good money for their equipment (more than other brands) and they won't sell us the whole package. And why sell it in Australia and not here? There are many Aussies who are in this forum who could be seen as "junior sleep lab techs" (as gster ...

I'm truly ashamed to say, but I'm a 36 yr old female, 5'4" and 220 lbs. I take a lot of psychotropic medication that has contributed to my weight gain. I'm dieting now and hope to drop about 80 lbs. Argh. Wish me luck.

I would've insisted on a machine that comes with software. I use the Resmed VPAPIII. The machine works great, but it's a real pain in the butt to have to read my results via a "one-line" LCD screen.

I tried to think of something that meant the world to me. That was either sleep, or the purr of my cat. So I went with the cat to be different. Her name is Kezia, thus KeziaPurrs.

I use a Bipap and Ambien. Last night was the first night I actually slept through the night with no awakenings. I was so excited this morning. All in all, the ambien works great for me. It knocks me out about 45 minutes after taking it, and I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. I understand h...

Javaide, I've been using Ambien CR for about a year now. I sleep about 8 hours, but I still wake up a few times during the night, so it's not the perfect drug. As for its addictive qualities; I've never tried to quit taking it so I don't know. The side effects for me are actually pretty funny. Anyth...

yellowbug, I've been on Bipap for a little over a month now. I experience the same thing as you. Ever since I've been on Bipap, I've awoken earlier, wide awake, with energy to last the day.......or at least until lunch. I go to bed about an hour earlier than you, so I'm getting 8 hours of sleep, but...

I'm blessed to be able to say that my insurance covers everything relating to OSA. I have my Dr. write a Rx and fax it to my DME (Monitor Medical). I then go in and try on as many masks as I like. They bill the insurance company. Super easy for me.

Yellowbug, I'm fairly new to cpap (bipap) as well (5 weeks). I often pulled my mask off in my sleep at the beginning, but am getting more and more used to it. Now I only take it off once every three days or so. What equipment are you using (masks, machine)? Maybe we can suggest other masks that migh...

Emilie, Sorry to hear about your woes with the new machine. Have you tried a snugglehose or a heated hose? They both tend to cut down on the rainout. I've heard in these forums that the mask you use, is known for leaks I, too, use Bipap and I alternate between two masks. The Ultra Mirage FFM and the...

My humidifier is sometimes more trouble than it's worth. I can't fill it to the maximum fill line b/c water blows out like a spigot when my machine is on. I can only fill it halfway, therefore I have to fill it every night, if I want to have enough water to last until morning. I set my machine at 2 ...

I started taking Adderall XR a few years ago for adult ADD. It really did nothing for my energy level; it just made me more mentally alert. I still felt physically tired. After a couple years of constant fatigue I started taking Provigil (b/c I have OSA, my insurance covers it except for the copay.)...
