unsure about how to do this
Re: unsure about how to do this
I am new to forum, been using cpap for 7 months with full face mask. This has been life changing for me; my AHI was 90, I was like the walking dead.
I have been successful with these tweaks:
*I bought a box of thin knit liners that go between the full face mask and my skin, prevents the silicone mask sticking and farting, you can find them on Amazon. They are pricey, but I wash it every morning and let it dry and one will last me a month or more. They can be trimmed to fit so they don't tickle your nose or mouth.
*I wear a 'buff' on my head at night over my hair and put the headgear over that, it prevents it from sliding around on my head (and keeps it cleaner).
*I put cream on my face at night, it helps the liner stay in place and prevents chapping from the blowing air.
*I don't have heated tubing, but I have it up against my chest under the blanket so that the air is warmed and I don't even notice it.
*I bought a special pillow with cutouts in the bottom corners so that when I sleep on my side, the mask fits into the cutouts and isn't pressing on my nose.
I had to have a 'this will work' attitude because the alternative was not pleasant with my severe OSA. Now I sleep all night 7-8 hours, I am dreaming again!, and I feel rested and in such a better mood!

Re: unsure about how to do this
Chicagogranny, I just wanted to say a great big thank you. Last night I slept almost all night with my cpap. The advice about not focusing on your breathing really helped. also I found a scripture that said
"He (God) gives sleep to those he loves" and I used that to fall asleep. Thanks again. God Bless.

And He also gave us Colin Sullivan (the inventor of CPAP), and a host of good people who formed corporations, worked hard and brought us CPAPs with a high level of technical innovation.
(Da debble made our airways too small.)

That's funny, he said one slightly off topic thing then shared his experience relating directly to the post topic. That's a wierd thing to call out CG.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 7:44 amWhy did you post in this thread? This should have been a new post - an introduction of yourself to the forum members.

Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

I am glad you found sleep with help in the power of your faith. CPAP is a mere tool to keep the airway open so your body does not wake you up.

Your responses seem mean-spirited. I find that a bit odd for a forum like this. Is it your intention to discourage participation?

Nothing truly illustrates "weird" like spelling it weird/wierd.

Lovely.
Why, then, does the title of the forum say "CpapTalk"?
