Pressure Adjustment

Post by lindakay » Wed Oct 20, 2004 7:10 pm

I have the two extra little arrow buttons on my Respironics RemStar Plus machine and have pushed them by accident in the middle of the night when I was trying to turn the machine off to walk to the bathroom. Is changing the pressure harder than that? I cannot find the little booklet that came with my machine and can't find a place online that will give me the booklet information, so I don't know what those buttons do.

..Are there different settings for the heated humidifier that I don't know about?... my nose is so stuffy all day and I'm afraid there's an adjustment I might be able to make but can't now since I can't find the doggone booklet!

pushing buttons by accident

Post by rested gal » Thu Oct 21, 2004 7:19 am

Hi lindakay,

Accidentally pressing any buttons on your machine won't change the pressure. There are a few hoops one has to jump through first before you'd be into the "clinicial menu" where pressure changing could be done.

Yoga, nice pointers toward finding Respironics user manuals! Thanks.

Yoga - In case you come back and see this - thanks very much for pointing me to the pdf instructions online. I had hurriedly looked there and missed them. Thank you all for your willingness to help! I printed the instructions; also printed instructions for the humidifier and have turned it up a bit to help with the stuffy nose. I just got back from a sleep lab overnight and am sitting here drinking coffee and glad to be home - I forgot my pillow and really missed it!.. I'm doing really well with the nasal pillows, except for the stuffy nose, but I need to go see an ear, nose and throat doc soon anyway. Thanks again to everyone!
