Trick for tender spot under nose.

Post by Islandwoman » Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:52 am

I use a Circadiance Advance cloth mask, never any problems. Just recovering from several weeks of Type A influenza which was hard on my nose because of slow drip. I finally started putting a protective lip protector in a tube under my nose but it messed up my mask. I tried tearing a thin strip of TP and applying it over the tacky strip under my nose. It stayed in place all night, no messy mask and no sore under my nose This would not work for mammoth nose drip but I use it every night now and never any irritation. No leaks because its so thin.

I switched to a different mask. That solved the problem, at least the specific problem under the nose.

However, I'm sensitive to new silicone in general. I soak every new face piece in 50% vinegar solution for at least two hours. That helps, but I always hear from the naysayers when I suggest this.

Of course, if you find the odor if vinegar unpleasant, you should wash and rise thoroughly. Otherwise, a less thorough wash and rinse will do.
