ResMed Cellular Modem - Network Extender

Post by mcmitchell » Thu Feb 15, 2018 6:34 pm

Hi All,
My husband wears a CPAP. It's the ResMed and I signed him up on My Air online and on the mobile app. However, celluar coverage in our area isn't that great and we use a Verizon Network Extender in our home to be able to use our cell phones - it works great. Can I add this Cellular Modem to the extender just like we did our cell phones? We did that by registering the cellular phone number. Do the ResMed modems have a number associated with them? Or is this some other way to make it work? Our phones use WiFi calling. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Download Sleepyhead, and use an sd card.
10x the information, with complete privacy.

The Resmed S10 uses AT&T for cellular service. The service level is indicated in upper right hand corner. My unit had only 1 mark for the first 4 weeks, but has jumped to 3 marks now and has never failed to transmit to MyAir (except for the first day of use).
I have not gotten to use Sleepyhead yet, but know it will give better information and not a number that is dependent on
getting 7 hours of use to get a high rating. The unit should eventually transmit, but the important part is that the transmission has all
the information your doctor needs for compliance if that is an issue.

Thank you for the information on SleepyHead. We only have Verizon cellular in my area, so that explains it. No AT&T signal here at all. I will check how to properly remove the SD card. I don't easily see the slot.

Since I'm not using the cellular service, should I place the machine in Airplane mode?

Read the manual
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf
page 28 explains about the SD card slot.
Make sure you have a SD card in the slot. Some machines are being shipped out without cards. If you don't have a card you can go buy one....doesn't have to be a special card. Any plain generic SD card will work. I got one at WalMart.

Airplane mode on or off is your choice. You may get an annoying "do you know you are in airplane mode" nag screen choice if you turn it off. Doesn't really matter one way or the other though if there is no service for in it your area. It can try to transmit but nothing goes anywhere.

You do realize your body needs at least 7 hours of restful oxygenated sleep a night. The 4 hours for compliance is just for the Bean Counters, it's has nothing to do with your health or quality of life. Jim

If you need to provide compliance data for your DME, occasionally take your Resmed unit for a trip where you can link it up to AT&T. My DME told me that it will upload the last 2 weeks of data. Of course, once you are past the compliance need, it doesn't matter unless you don't have a computer and want to access MyAir via your apps. I ended up using it in the ICU in my family member's room and it connected just fine there, but you could also just plug it in at a cafe or something.
