Hi,

My name is Ricky and I have recently been diagnosed 113 AHI, I am on a loan machine Resmed Auto sense 10 for 6 weeks then I go back and see the doc.

The question I have is this, first night slept well AHI down to 7, good seal, low leak all is good, since the every night is different my highest AHI is 35 with 7 the lowest, according to the resmed mysleep website all is good with mask and leak etc, pressure is set from 6-20 and I don't know how to change it.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Ricky

And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say”

The manual explains how to change things
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf
but make sure that whatever changes you are making are the appropriate changes for whatever you are wanting to do.

Like the AHI....if it is higher than you want and your first thought is "more pressure"...make sure that the AHI is made up of apnea events that will respond to more pressure.
If OA and Hyponea...probably more pressure is needed
But if your AHI is primarily central in nature then more pressure won't fix/prevent those and in fact might make them worse.

So...what is your AHI composed of?
How much in each event category?
Do you know about the software so you can see more details than what is available at the MyAir website or on the machine's LCD display?

Hi Pugsy,

Thank you very much.

The short answer is I don't know yet I didn't know about that software, ill get an SD card reader and import some data and hopefully be able to answer you.

Edit, I found a SD card reader but the data is hard to read, I have a pdf file of the report can I upload it?

Thanks

Should be easy for your to see. If having trouble understanding what you see
http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... d#pid73182
But all you need is to look at the daily detailed report and see what it says on the left under AHI.

We can't upload attachments at this forum but we do insert images.

Do NOT do the full screen toggle thing in SleepyHead. There's a bug in SH and sometimes with some operating systems if you go to full screen toggle you can't easily get back out of it.

Thanks Pugsy,

I read your #3 guide last night awesome read, I have chronic pain from a bad back operation and nerve damage and my mid to upper back has been really sore I was worried that it was getting worse, now I know it is just sore muscles as they get used to the machine.

Thanks for the advice on how to get images up, ill do it this afternoon when I get home.

Thanks

Ricky

Oh man...what a mess and where to start??
With some questions for sure so that we can have a better idea what is going on.

Where do you live for one thing?

I see lots of breaks in therapy here...are you spending a lot of time awake with the mask on and having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep?

Chronic pain huh?? Do you take any medications for it...especially concerned about pain meds that have properties which might suppress respiration??

Can you zoom in on the flow rate graph for me...in a couple of places.
On the report dated Feb 4....click on the Events tab...then click on the "Clear Airway" category....then you will see a big long list of events and the time they happened.
Pick one at around 23:45 that has a couple of others in close timed proximity to it....highlight it and then click on that one highlighted event...
The graphs on the right will change and you will be zoomed in on that one event and most likely 2 or 3 more close by it.
Get me a screen shot of that level of zooming in...don't go changing the scale from what it automatically gives you if you follow my instructions.

Do the same thing for the report dated Feb 3 and this time we want Obstructive Apneas
Pick something just prior to that 7:00 AM cluster of OAs.

So 2 more zoomed in graphs and answers to the above questions please.

Hi Pugsy,

Sorry for the delay it was my sons 18th birthday and I have been flat out.

I live in St Marys which is a Suburb of Sydney Australia

The breaks appear to be me taking off the mask, some nights it really bugs me and I take it off without knowing.

Medication: Targin, Codeine, Diazepham, and Stilnox for when I cant sleep.

I am adding some of my most recent nights to give you some more data.
