I recommend a chin strap to begin to help you to keep your mouth closed while sleeping. I do the same. wore it for about 10 months. All was fine for the last 2-3 months but am beginning to do so again. Therefore, I am going to wear it every other night in an effort to teach myself to keep my mouth closed during sleeping.

Chicago....Want to say a HUGE thank you for the info on the GC dry mouth gel. I ordered a couple of tubes when I found your post. I have been using CPAP for many years and just recently trying to switch from a nasal to full face mask. A major problem is the horrible dry mouth, I did buy a cervical collar and it seems to help, but the dry mouth is just do discouraging. I will try you method of applying the gel tonight. Thanks again.

This is going to sound strange, but since i quit heating the water on my humidifier, i have almost stopped totally with the mouth breathing. I think it was aggravating my asthma? So between no heat and the gel (I got orange flavored) last night was super comfortable. Winning!

Some people have reported too little humidity from the CPAP humidifier causes nasal congestion, and others have reported too much humidity causes nasal congestion. (Nasal congestion is a factor in increasing mouth breathing.) Each individual has to figure out his own "sweet spot" for the humidifier setting. (BTW, I do not use a humidifier. Ambient humidity in my bedroom ranges from 50% down to 35% when the central furnace runs a lot.)

Glad to see "Winning!".

After you use it a few nights, maybe you can give us a review. Hope it works as well for you as it does for me!
