Burning Question.....

Post by Stardustor » Sat Jan 20, 2018 7:52 pm

I have an important, serious, life altering situation that is crying out for a solution..........

I have been using, with a fair degree of success, a DreamWear mask arrangement along with Nasal Gel Pillows.

Over the past few months, my barber has expressed concerns about her inability to produce a smoothly tapered, finished haircut...!! Gr-r-r-r

It seems that I've developed two stubborn, intractable and unmanageable ( are you ready for this...? ) .....COWLICKS....!!

Anyone in this esteemed forum have a practical solution to my dilemma....?? ( I'm not about to shave my 85 year old, fully covered Pate )

I have a friend who is a hairdresser. She has a terrible time cutting "CPAP" Hair. I know this because she cuts my CPAP hair. Men's hair is the worst. I guess that guys are harder because the hair is shorter and it does the ridge thing. Mine at a shortish Woman's style is easier. I get bizarre parts and flips in the back. Yuk. I use a flat iron to straighten and guide hair. Some of her male clients do too. If your hair is long enough buy a travel size black one or you can try washing every morning with some styling agent. I am going to try a wig under net from amazon at night. It should, I hope, keep my hair from parting so much. Good luck

Have you tried using strap pads? My wife and I both noticed a difference in our hair once we started using them.

My hair looks like crap, but now at least I have an excuse - CPAP hair. Before I was just lazy about my appearence, now I have a medical condition. But washing my hair in the morning seems to help mine.

Before I went to a mask with no straps I used to put a cap of some sort under the headgear, like a skull cap or do-rag. Made my whole head of hair flat, but protected my hair.

Are the cowlicks anywhere close to where the mask straps reside?
If they are then a strap pad might help. If they aren't...you are probably SOL.

I have a nasty, nasty cowlick right up on the right side of my forehead at the hairline. Born with it...got the baby pictures showing it off in all its full glory. So I do my spiky short hair with spikes in my bangs on that side. Looks like it is just supposed to be the hair style but I just don't need gel to keep it spiked up.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

My hair is short. A conventional, traditional style. Even showering and shampooing don't help

What are 'Strap Pads'....? Skull cap, Do-Rag & Hair net all sound plausible. I'll give 'em a try.

I assume your mom isn't around anymore. If she were she would doubtless stick them down with spit.

Good luck!

Find a different barber.
Life is too short to take crap off someone who cannot deal with a challenge.
