Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
Hello All----Has anyone used the above mask and if so, how well do you like it? I am thinking of giving it a try and would like some input from users before I do so. Are the prongs inside the nasal passages troublesome or comfortable? I turn from side to side during the night and was also wondering if this mask does well for a turner. Thanks in advande for any information.

The mask is the Nasal Aire II by InnoMed.
Re: Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
Might consider my mask, Innomed/RespCare Universal Hybrid. Good for low to high pressure, comes with 3 sizes of pillows, 3 sizes of mouth cushion. Some of us make an extra strap to ensure the pillows stay in place if we move around a lot.

Re: Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
I assume by your equipment list (mask) that the one you suggest is a full face mask. I tried the full face a few years ago and hated it. I like to read at night and anything but the nasal pillow masks make reading a problem as I have to wear glasses. Out of all the masks I have tried (and I have tried a bunch) the two that work for me the best so far has been the Airfit P10 and the Swift FX. I just want to try the Nasal Aire prong to see how I like it. My supplier is sending me one next month to try and as they don't cost me anything I say why not try it!

If you can use a nasal interface without leaking pressure through your mouth, there is no reason to use a FFM.scrollinggrandpa wrote:I tried the full face a few years ago and hated it.

Re: Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
Over the past several nights I have noted that when I download my date and look at the pie chart I seem to have over or in some cases all of the chart showing OA yet my AHI's are all well below 5 and in most cases are below 2. Am I missing something here? Also, is there a way to upload files (charts/graphs) to my posts without joining a file sharing group or site?

The pie chart is worthless. It does not show the number of events. It simply shows what percentage of the total each category is. If half of the number of events you have are OAs, then half of the pie would be OA.

This site, https://imgur.com/ , is a favorite of the forum and is very easy to join and use.
That chart just shows the BREAKDOWN of events. If you have a few OAs and no other events, the pie chart will show 100% OA.scrollinggrandpa wrote:look at the pie chart I seem to have over or in some cases all of the chart showing OA

Re: Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
Thanks to all who have contributed their knowledge to my questions. I will be getting the Nasal Aire Prong mask next month and will give it a try and after about a week I will post how it works for me. If there are problems I will come back to my Airfit P10 with large pillows. It is doing what it is supposed to do. Last night I had a great mask fit with an AHI of 2.1. Can't get much better than that I do wish they made the P-10 with better headgear. The headgear gets stretched to quickly. If I had headgear like the Swift FX it would be great. I do have the FX and I do use it on occasion. Again, thanks to all and I will be posting again next month.
Re: Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
I gave the Nasal Aire II prong mask a try several years ago. It's been around a long time.
The prongs go into your nose quite a bit and they must fit perfect so that they inflate with the pressure and can seal.
Not uncomfortable as long as they fit properly and are sized properly.
Problem is the perfect fit needed on the prongs.
I was in between in sizes...one size was too small and when it inflated under pressure it didn't seal well and the next size up was too big and when it inflated it hurt like a SOB. So I never really made it to the trying it while sleeping thing...it hurt too bad to even try to go to sleep with it.
Hopefully you won't be an in between size like I was.
I know a couple of people who use the prongs and love them...but only a couple.

Re: Nasal Air Prong mask with headgear
Thanks Pugsy for the info. I will just have to wait and see. I have been on CPAP since 2010, have tried a lot of masks and am on my second machine. My resperonics machine died after 4 years and I ended up with a ResMed S9 Elite which I like better as it will give me the information on the screen I need. I have an old resperonics machine I take on the road. It has a seperate round water chamber but works just fine. I like the airfit P-10 except for the headstraps. They tend to stretch quickly and cause a loose fit. I also have the Swift FX which I switch off and on just for something different. I have found one thing that I am sure is helping with my sudden improvement in AHI readings. Both of us got adjustable beds in place of our California King regular bed. I have my head up about 10 to 12 inches and I have noticed that I sleep better, sounder, and of course improved readings. Since getting the bed about 3 weeks ago my highest AHI has been 2.1. Before the new bed they were near 5 and above. All the other readings have also improved since getting the new bed.
