New cpap hose smells funny

Post by Jerseyguy » Mon Dec 11, 2017 11:15 am

I just purchased this blackout hose from Amazon and used it last night. It had this wired smell to it. I also did take my mask off tonight. What was this smell?

A plastic-like smell?
Not uncommon, even with OEM equipment.
Maybe worse with third party stuff.
Blowing it out or airing it out should help.
I find aromatherapy upwind of the intake helps too.
If it is too unpleasant/will not go away/ etc, send it back.

Probably new hose plastic smell.
Did you wash it before you used it?
Let it air out in the room before you used it?

Oh, yes! WASH it really good!
If it is not a heated hose, soaking in a baking soda solution might help.
Thanks, Pugsy.

Never had a problem like that. Sill using the original hose I got with my S9 in mid 2014.
