New Portable CPAP Charger - The River

Post by onthefreeway » Fri Dec 01, 2017 2:03 pm

Saw this on The Grommet website. In the comments, the inventor says it can power a CPAP. Weighs 11 lbs., but could come in handy in an emergency. Anyone here have it, or heard of it? Sure ain't cheap, though.

"The River mobile power station by EcoFlow is a high capacity power bank that can hold its charge for a year and output 500W. Just to give you a sense, that’s enough energy to power a mini fridge for 10 hours, give you 100 hours of light, or for a 20-hour guitar solo. This emergency kit essential works in standard outlets as well as in the car, and it’s solar-powered, too. Let it back you up in unexpected power outages. Or bring it along camping, on road trips, or tailgating. Or even use it in outlet deserts around the house. You can charge up to 11 devices at once using its outlets and ports. And it has a clear LED display that lets you know exactly how much battery you’ve got so you can plan ahead."

Wow! At 412 Watt-hours this is the largest lithium pack I've seen. Its equal to about 35 Amp-hours at 12 V, so its the same as a U1 AGM battery, probably a bit better as lithium does a better job getting the most out of a battery. However, at $600 its about 10 times the cost in order to have half the weight, so its appeal will be a bit limited. Certainly if you have deep pockets and like to go first class, this is a neat battery pack.
