Happy to be on the site! I am having success with CPAP after 1 month of use. Energy way up. I had some nose soreness that was reduced using Ayr gel thanks to some of the posts here.
The Doctor said I had 34 events/hr mostly centrals. I hope I did the screenshot right:

Wow, it kinda freaks me out to see such good data at such low pressure - I guess I'm used to fighting with my issues

Happy to hear you have found such rapid relief, and welcome!

Thanks!
From reading posts here, I see others with much higher pressure. I found that I had trouble breathing with the higher pressures during the study (exhaling against the pressure, like breathing in a high wind).
Waking myself up (snoring) was my main problem.

Your screen shot looks great. You can turn off the pie chart and that would allow more of the important info below to be seen. On Sleepyhead, go into File - Preferences - Appearance and uncheck show event breakdown pie chart.
Do you have a copy of your sleep study? Was this a home or in lab study? My question is if you had mostly centrals an APAP doesn't treat them and they usually require a special machine to treat them. Although sometimes insurance requires failure on one machine to progress up to the next. Though you certainly don't have any events to worry about on this night. Glad you are doing so well.
If you don't have a copy of your sleep study you can get one and also ask for a copy of the RX or medical order so you can use other vendors if you want.

If you still have problems with exhaling against the pressure you could turn on your EPR. With a pressure of 6, which is very low, you really shouldn't have much of a problem. With an EPR of 2 the pressure will be 4 on exhale. That's as low as your machine will go.

It was a home study first. Then a study with a CPAP machine and wires etc. at the hospital sleep lab. Not sure about the centrals, it was mentioned over the phone to me. I will get a complete report from the Doctor.
Thanks for the sleepyhead setting, I will do it.

Sometimes some people do get lucky and have cpap resolve centrals so it's not totally unheard of.

Looks like you are doing really well...report looks good and you apparently are feeling better and that's the important part...feeling better.

Good job.

If you still have some issues exhaling against the pressure...try EPR exhale relief and see how it feels.
I don't have any particular issues exhaling but I just like EPR...makes the breathing experience feel more "natural". Give it a try while awake just to see what it is like. You may or may not like it. Won't hurt to try it.
Watch for centrals...there is a very small minority of people who will have centrals pop up with the use of exhale relief like EPR...very small minority though.

Thanks Pugsy and LSAT. I will look into EPR if my pressure needs to be increased. It is currently turned off on my machine. No real problems with the 6 pressure setting.
