Audible sound in my tubing...???

You know the sound it makes when you blow in a bottle (like a flute)? I hear a faint but very annoying sound with each breath in and out since I got my new machine. The tubing is skinnier and more lightweight than my previous setup. but now I hear this annoying sound every time I breathe in and out.

Ive swapped out the nasal cushion and even the whole mask so I know its gotta be the tubing.

Anyone else??

I have had that too, but lowering my machine helped.
I also notice it on my travel machine, when using the cheapest hose.

I wear earplugs at night, not just for PAP sounds (hey wait, wasn't that a Beach Boys album?) but for other random little noises that might not wake me up but that might knock me outa one sleep stage into another for no good reason. But hey, that's just me, and all that isn't really even an answer to the question you're asking. So let's just pretend I didn't say anything, OK?

Try reversing the tube if it's a generic. IE: not a heated hose that has unique sides.

Also feel around the connections on each end for any sharpish edges that may have occurred during the manufacturing of the hose. If it's a cheaper generic and they were sloppy when they attached the ends there could be some extra plastic/material there that is diverting air flow in interesting ways and causing the air to resonate inside the hose. I would also remove and reattach all the hose connections regardless and see if it makes a difference.

If its really bad would record the noise with my cell and switch it out with an older hose and record the difference.

If the hose is new you may be able to get it replaced. If it's making really annoying noises it my not be defective per say, however if it drives you nuts and keeps you from sleeping it's not working very well.

The machine will make kind of wheezing noise in and out, sometimes it seems louder that usual, my machine is very old 12 years, last night starting up in a cold room it was worse than usual. It doesn't bother me, except for the change, my ears plug up in 30 minutes, I couldn't hear the T.V.

I'd ask for a better quality hose, some they give me are cheep. I 'd get a good one, then not change it or wash it, but that's just me. Jim

My s9 started making a noise when I used it as primary, I did all the troubleshooting, ended up being a small hole(crack) near the end that connects to the machine. Don't know how it got there other than flexing, changed hoses and no more noise. Good luck finding the noise, they can be as elusive as rattles in vehicles...

My AirSense 10 made gurgling noises in the hose one time that wound up being water trapped in the hose. I ran the mask fit test with the mask off and the air pressure blew it out.

The Blugle effect, or flow past slots. If you have an old hose, hold one end and swing it around your head. The tone will change the faster it swings around. Only it doesn't change a little, it jumps an octave at a time (three are usually possible).
