Veterans Mask Swap

Post by Tater52403 » Tue Nov 21, 2017 8:45 am

Searching all Veterans that use Amera View mask. Just discovered that each time (every 6 months) VA replaces my mask with a new fit pack which includes not only the medium size that I wear as well as a small and large. i think this is a waste. I thought i would go on here and see if I could find others that would use the other sizes for trade.

Yeah, I found out they replaced the ENTIRE mask when I requested a cushion for my Dreamwear.

What a waste, now I have a complete extra Dreamwear minus the medium cushion that I use.

You can edit your posts if you're a member - not sure about guests.

You should be able to edit the subject line if you choose the Edit button...I am pretty sure that the subject line is available for editing if that is what you wish to do.
I know I have done it to correct typos in the subject line in the past.

Guests have never been able to edit anything in their posts but now that guest posting is no longer allowed it will be a non issue.

Ahhhh... I didn't know that. If that's the case, is the membership process going to be speeded up? I know I would have moved on if I couldn't post for over a month while waiting to be approved.

You ARE a member - see your name on the left (vs a long list of others with same ISP)?

It appears to have been speeded up. And yes, I know the time frame was unduly long while they were working out the kinks on how to best figure out who was legit and who was a spammer.
It's a difficult process figuring out IP addresses that might be problematic and sometimes legit people got in the crossfires due to their IP address which of course they have no control over.
The original automated process clearly had some big holes in it and manual approval by one person was obviously causing problems. I know they have worked hard on coming up with an automated process that is faster and less likely to create big holes for spammers to sneak through.
You weren't here when we had the big spam attack in May that caused all the problems with the member approval process...it was really bad.

It's not perfect now but better and we will deal with it. If a spammer sneaks through he will be swiftly dealt with.

Originally Johnny wanted to make it as easy as possible for someone needing help to post...hence the guest posting but that was years ago and pretty much anyone now who posts on a forum will know they need to register. Most people are computer savvy enough to handle that requirement.

It is possible to buy individual cushions for most masks on both cpap.com and on amazon. In other words, even if someone needed a medium cushion, they could swap for your extra mask and just get the cushion they need.

I know that's what I'm thinking - I can't imagine the headgear going bad in 6 months or 2 years for that matter. Maybe we can get some extra masks out to people who are struggling.

The longest topic in the forum is "the great pillow exchange".
Go right to the last page for most recent posts, and where the last post (yours?) will land.

Type "pillow exchange" into the search box at the top of the page right below the forum logo.
