Re: Just When I Thought I'd Found the Perfect Mask
What happens if you go back to your previous mask for a few days? Examining both carefully side by side, do you notice any differences between your old one and your new one? Did the manufacturer switch the material or cut? Perhaps this is noticeable or not, so who knows? In any case, yes, do try out...

Do You Alternate Between Masks?
How many folks here alternate between two (or more) masks as part of your regular routine? If so, why and with what frequency? I'm currently alternating between the mask I originally got, which is in my signature, and the Respironics Nuance Pro Gel Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask . Although they're rather di...

Re: Bring Sleepyhead data to appointment?
In about a month, I have my first doctor's appointment since beginning CPAP in May. For what it's worth, I plan on bring my Sleepyhead printouts to the appointment. I'll update then on how that went.

Re: Need clap?
Brand new on cpap and I'm not loving it. Didn't sleep at night my whole life and was tired all day. Ten years ago my new wife said that's not normal and I should get a prescription for something. I've been on temazapam and amatryptatine for ten years and been fine. My doctor retired and the new doc...

Re: Tap Water
I'm on vacation and decided not to take the water with me. I have been using tap water for the past 2 nights and find it fine. It's filtered tap water and I don't think I'll go back to buying distilled any longer. I'll wipe out my tray every day as well as clean the tubing weekly. It even smells fr...

Re: TSA and CPAPs
Carrying a copy of your Rx and a' Letter of Medical Necessity' from your doc is a good idea (I keep copies in my luggage and my travel wallet)... not for TSA, but for the airline gate agent who tries to put my cpap in the baggage hold . Since I fly Southwest all the time for business, I also have a...

Re: SD Card Lock/Unlock: A Mnemonic Device
If you have a Respironics Dreamstation, the solution is simple: keep the card locked all the time! My Dreamstation (purchased in April 2017) happily writes to the Lexar SD card that came with it regardless of the position of the lock tab. Maybe older machines care, mine doesn't. I figured this out ...

Re: DreamStation filters
It's hay fever season these days, so I think I'll keep using the light blue filters until it ends, and when environmental air quality goes down. Perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not, I haven't had any hay fever symptoms at all so far, whereas in previous years without the CPAP machine I would get th...

Re: DreamStation filters
I'm just wondering if eventually I can get away with using just the dark blue one, washing it from time to time and replacing it when necessary, without necessarily using the light blue one, too. I'm in a smoke-free environment which isn't particularly dusty, and heck, I was using just the dark blu...

Re: DreamStation filters
Took me a little while to figure this out, too. At first I thought the light blue filters (I got a half dozen or so with my kit) were a replacement for the dark blue one that was already installed, but I couldn't figure out how to make them fit in there. Then I broke down and RTFM (Read The Fine Man...

Re: TSA and CPAPs
Agreed, that was the impression I got, too. But for good measure, as I mentioned earlier, it's a good idea to bring along a copy of your prescription as added insurance to help everything go smoothly.Bookbear wrote:I think TSA is far more used to seeing cpaps than they used to be.
