Respironics Dreamwear mask

Post by dream321 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 10:53 am

I just started using the Dreamwear nasal mask. I really like it a lot except for one issue. When I’m sleeping on my side, somethings it’s very noisy with air flowing through. Other times it’s fairly silent. I believe it does this at approximately the same pressure. Any ideas why this happens?

There are two venting areas on the DreamWear.
One is on top of the frame next to where the long hose connects and the other is under the nose.
I found that when the vent holes caused the air to hit my arm or bed covers that the noise was a lot louder.
Maybe that is what you are hearing intermittently????
It could also happen to the top vent hole but that's not nearly as likely to be blowing against something to cause noise.

I use the Dreamwear, but I have found if you lay on the frame that is where the air flows through as they are hollow. Depending on how much pressure is pushing the frame to my head, it's louder or softer. I generally sleep mostly face down, so I only hear it some of the time (when my head is turned to the side).

Thanks for the replies. I’ll try to keep the vents clear from obstruction
