Nasal pillow to FFM or Hybrid

Post by acctingman » Tue Nov 07, 2017 3:00 pm

A question for the nasal pillow users who switched to a FFM or Hybrid. Which mask did you eventually find that works for you? Just looking for some recommendations. I'm getting tired of wearing a chin strap

Thank you

Meaningless - everyone's facial structure is different and faces change as well when lying down.

Go to cpap.com... review the FF masks and read the dozens of reviews on the ones you like.

this isn't a direct answer to your question, in fact i went from full face mask to nasal pillows BUT have you tried a soft cervical collar to replace the chinstrap?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

The chin strap never worked for me, because my problem was that the pressure was blowing my lips open, not that my jaw was dropping. I have no doubt that an FFM would have eliminated the leaks, but as a stomach sleeper, I didn't think I would find that option to be comfortable. Based on posts on this forum that I read about 10 years ago, I've been taping my mouth shut ever since. Problem solved for me. May or may not work for you. I use 2" 3M Durapore tape, available on amazon.

I started with nasal pillows. Chinstraps did not keep my lips from leaking air. Taping was a pain. I have been using the Innomed Hybrid mask for over five years. For me, it is a much better solution than the traditional FFM designs. Leak level is near zero, and AHI runs about 1.0.
