Results after first month

Post by Bomar » Mon Nov 06, 2017 2:45 pm

Have been on a resmed air sense10 with full mask for 6 weeks now. Original sleep study had my AHI at 29. Have it on the entire night, every night. Now I sleep 7.5 -9 hrs every night. Machine says apnias/hypopnies ? , are averaging 3-4. Finally dreaming after many years. Occasionally have poor mask fit but believe it to be moving face against pillow to much. I hope this success continues forever!

Are you using sleepyhead or resScan programs to get good data? You may be ready for some fine tuning.

Good idea. Don't know anything about sleepyhead. Is res scan the same as what my res med machine app tells me later in the morning?

Hi Bomar~~~

Great news that you are feeling improvement.

There's information about sleepyhead at the top of this page. Pugsy's Pointers.
Also you can search the site for tons of information.

There is a chance that you may not have the type of machine that allows you to collect the data and use sleepyhead to help you optimize and possibly improve even more.

...but if you can (?), I hope you do!
...and if you don't have the right sort of machine maybe you are still in the time period where they can switch you?

Here's hoping you feel better and better every day for the rest of your life!
Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.

The OP said in his post that he is using an Airsense 10, so he has data.

Thanks Mark55.

That is great news then, OP, Bomar!

I think there are differences in these autosense machines(?) For example mine is an 'autoset'.
...but I really am not educated at all on the different names and models.

Nor could I help Bomar download his sleepyhead.
I know how to look at my sleepyhead, and I REALLY enjoy pondering the statistics and shapes of my breath ...

...but someone else had to download it on to the computer for me.

I have download fear.

Resmed Airsense 10 can be an Autoset or Autoset for her, an Elite,
or (horrors) the one simply named "CPAP", which yoelds little information.
Those stinkers just coud not resist making another brick!

Congrats on taking the first step. 3-4 is much better than 29 but you could likely due even better.

My Air is the app on my Air sense 10 that's giving me my stats. Will try to dload the sleepyhead program and see if it reads my machine. Thanks all for the help and support
