If I remember right, it was hard for me to tell a difference in the first place (the differential isn't that great). I haven't used mine in 4 years - just pass-over humidification. You may need to insulate your hose to maintain the heat. There are several manufacturers.

No, it won't necessarily feel warm to the touch because your own body temp is 98.6 or therabouts and the most the heated hoses will go to is 86 degrees.
86 degrees is still cooler than body temp and will seem cooler to the touch.

"The ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet CPAP Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier combines the proven technology of the AutoSet algorithm with the integrated comfort of the Optional ClimateLineAir Heated Tube. This is an auto titrating CPAP machine which adjusts the pressure on a breath by breath basis to deliver the minimal pressure needed to maintain the airway."

the heated tube is an option. if you're talking about that, make sure you got and paid for a heated tube, my heated humidifier has never made the regular tube feel warm.

If you're asking if the hose gets warm when the humidifier is on, meaning the water is getting heated, my hose has never gotten warm at all from that. My heated hose feels slightly warm if set at the higher levels (I also have a hose cover on it most of the time.) My husband has a heated hose but keeps it turned off, the humidifier is on a lower setting, and his hose doesn't feel warm at all.

I cannot tell if my hose is heating or not by feel. But I keep it down pretty low. I think the best way to check would be to turn it up as high as it will go and see if it feels warm after a while.

I found out. Body temp. 98. Humidifer temp 83. Since body temp. is higher, the hose will not get/feel warm, nor will the air.

I have found that if my hose is set high "in the 80s+ or so" and I have it in a hose cover [which is always for me] that my hose will feel slightly warm to the touch but not much. If on the other hand my hose is turned off I don't notice any heat what so ever from the hose from just the residual heat from the warmed water tray in the humidifier.

For what it's worth.

======

wowee!!!!!!!!!!!

that is an aamazing factoid !!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, not correct. Things feel warm or cold based on energy flow, not necessarily because of the actual temperature. A steel block at room temperature will feel cold, but a towel at the same temp will feel warm. Also although our core temp stays pretty close to 98.6, our skin temp can differ greatly.
