VPAP cleaning frequency .
I use a SoClean unit to clean my VPAP when home-- since SoClean units are not very portable I do not take it with me when I travel--I wonder how many nights one can NOT clean a VPAP unit without asking for trouble?

Re: VPAP cleaning frequency .
my vpap is several years old ... never have cleaned it ... dusted it off changed the filter ... wash out the humidifier every month or so ... wash the mask cushion every couple of weeks
I use distilled water so not much cleaning needed

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Loren - do a forum search for SoClean and see what the consensus here is on it to begin with... I really wouldn't concern myself with 'cleaning' your machine... big waste of time and potentially actually harmful to you (the SC, not the concept of clean per se).

I think the limit is 2,11.5 days without cleaning.
If you should happen to get a new machine before that reset the counter.
Masks are about 437.3 days.
Hoses 811 days.
Water chambers 891 days.

This is a very good question. The responses may appear to be flippant, but they are well based. There are many threads that discuss this. SoClean provides disinfecting, which is not needed. We always breath non-disinfected air.lorenadam wrote:I use a SoClean unit to clean my VPAP when home-- since SoClean units are not very portable I do not take it with me when I travel--I wonder how many nights one can NOT clean a VPAP unit without asking for trouble?
SoClean does not provide cleaning, so equipment cleaning is still required. Cleaning requirements are overstated by the manufactures. Clean the mask and humidifier enough to keep it gunk free. That is all that is needed.
