I cannot fall asleep (get REM) with full mask

It is disturbing a little because in the first two days I did fall asleep. Now I am in between sleep/wake state. I may try Ambien but I normally use it only when I absolutely must. Otherwise I sleep like a baby. I am thinking of getting a Oracle mask next time I can change. Jan 2018

Your AHI is too high. Even if you manage to fall asleep you are still having enough apnea events to trash your sleep quality.
It's no wonder you aren't sleeping well.

How come you are using a full face mask?
Is your nose congested all the time and you can't ever breathe through your nose?

Why wait until Jan for a new mask? The Oracle is not an easy mask to use unless your nose is so stopped up all the time that it is essentially useless.

Where did you get your machine and mask from? You are new to therapy??? Normally there is a mask swapping period available for people who end up not liking the mask they are using.

What is the problem with the current mask? Discomfort? Leaks? Just annoying?

The current mask is a little suffocating. My insurance allows me to switch masks every 3 months. Not much I can do about it.

I did sleep last night (YAY) and AHI was down to 3.2...

My insurance uses California Sleep Solution and yes I am new to therapy. The mask I have now is ok but I want to try a few more. We can swap evert 3 months.

That mask should be used only as the absolute last resort.

It looks like you can continue to work with your current mask and get to a good therapy.

far too little data to tell if the OP has an RDI problem or not. His overall average RDI over three hours is .77. The RERA average of 6.00 is only a 30-minute average, far too little to tell much of anything. The flow limitations are 0, that makes me doubt there is a RERA issue.
