Have been using a Respironics System One for 5+ years, and often suspected I was breathing through my mouth always waking up with a very dry mouth. Finally got a ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset, and can now see data for the first time. Is this data consistent with mouth breathing? I've asked to be fitted for a full face mask thinking this is the right think to do.
Also curious why the data is broken into many different sessions, with gaps in the data throughout the night. I slept continuously, and didn't wake up or touch the machine throughout the night.
Any advice or insight would be much appreciated!

Re: help interpreting sleepyhead data
Do you have SmartStart enabled on your machine?
If so, try turning SmartStart off and see if the breaks in the therapy line continue.
If you aren't using SmartStart ...check all your power connections to make sure they are solidly connected especially the one at the back of the machine and at the power brick.
You might want to get ResScan software to confirm that the breaks in therapy aren't a SleepyHead bug.
If you still get them with SmartStart turned off and you are sure the electric stuff is plugged in solid and they are confirmed on ResScan you might want to get with your DME about the problem.
And yes...leaks are a significant problem. Most likely mouth breathing leaks.
If you want to try a full face mask that is up to you. For some people the full face mask is a better option than trying to stop the mouth breathing with the other methods (tape, chin strap, etc).
I will let a little mouth breathing large leak slide but yours is way more than a little.
The reason I suggest turning SmartStart off is with your leaks it is possible the machine thinks that you aren't attached and is shutting itself off during a big leak. While it doesn't appear that leaks where all that high at the time of the break in therapy...it's still possible that the breaks in therapy are related to the machine just shutting itself off because it can't sense your breathing because of the big leaks.

Re: help interpreting sleepyhead data
Thanks Pugsy, your response was very helpful.
The power cables all look good, and SmartScan is already turned OFF. I put the SD Card through ResScan, and it shows the exact same breaks in therapy as Sleepyhead.
I'll ask the DME about it when I go for the full face mask fitting this afternoon.

Re: help interpreting sleepyhead data
Low resperation rate...Med 11...could cause Smart Start to shut off if it was on. Average Resp rate at rest is higher than that.

Re: help interpreting sleepyhead data
Since SmartStart was already off...can't blame it on the machine not knowing you were attached.
If electric is solid and since confirmed in ResScan then you need to be getting with the DME about it.
We don't know if the machine is really shutting itself off or if there is a problem with it writing to the SD card.
Either way it's not normal and needs to be checked out.
