Had to evacuate and have no CPAP

Post by Scaryjerri » Mon Oct 09, 2017 11:20 am

We had to evacuate from our home this morning and the C-PAP did not make it. Are their companies that would rent on a temporary basis and would I need a prescription?

YES and YES...Hopefully you have a copy of your prescription...everyone should...or contact your doctor. Many DMEs rent machines.

Yes, there are companies which will rent to you -- possibly even your own DME.

I am currently renting one because my own machine was damaged while traveling. It's been sent for repairs, and my DME had a machine for me to rent, thank goodness.

You definitely need a copy of your prescription -- I have a copy of my latest one on my phone so it is less likely to be left behind.

Hope your home is okay!

I think you may be in the Napa/Sonoma area in California. You might have a hard time finding a DME in your area. See if your DME has a branch in Marin County or San Francisco. I hope you have a copy of your prescription but considering the situation, you may get lucky if you don't have one. Not everyone will remember to take their prescription as they run from a fire. Good luck and stay safe.
