ha ha.
MaxINTJ, maybe you should start a new thread with a title like "why is getting a diagnosis so hard?" or something along those lines.

Ummm.... because that would actually make sense to everyone?

Honestly, I am nearing the point of giving up hope for any kind of diagnosis. My symptoms, sleep study results, and CPAP data can only say I'm getting really crappy sleep. Out of the several people who have looked at my info (including multiple sleep techs), the only answers I have been able to get are:

a) what it's not, or
b) don't know

Maybe you should consider traveling to a really top-notch sleep lab/sleep doctor?

I would if I could.

I have no PTO available until next year (mostly because of one short vacation and all these doctor appointments), and then it would be very expensive. It would be next year some time at the earliest. I would love to be seen by Dr. Krakow but that is a really long way from central MO.

If there is such a person within the VA system, maybe at least cost wouldn't be such an issue...

Since you have obviously not been paying attention (again or still), I have been compliant since my neck swelling has gone down, and nothing has changed other than I can keep my mask on all night. Sleep is still absolutely crappy.

I have no accurate diagnosis, so there is no solution at this point in time. It is unknown whether or not a CPAP, BiPAP or ASV will actually help, so how YOU can decide I need one is beyond me...

i guarantee that you are not as special as you think you are and the answer is out there if you really want it
if I had unlimited funds and time, sure, I could travel anywhere and see the best doctors - but I live in the real world.

OK, you are really being dense now.

Crappy sleep is a SYMPTOM - not a diagnosis.
