Airsense 10 Autoset performance question

Post by PiobGuy » Wed Aug 23, 2017 12:49 pm

I just picked up an Airsense 10 Autoset to replace my S9 Autoset and, despite having my settings (I think) the same as the S9 I think I am getting quite a bit less humidification. I wonder what folks are experiencing. I have the Climateline with the control set to Auto and the hose temp set to 78.

On a happy but unexpected note, my AHI is noticeably lower with the A10. I wonder if this is a calculation change or if it is really working better.

The humidification setting changed between the s9 and a10, there is a resmed page about it out there somewhere, but I can't look for it right now, try some googling and see if you can't turn it up

What makes you feel like the Airsense is providing less humidification?
Auto setting on the S9 is suppose to give 80% and with the Airsense I think Auto setting was 85% but for sure at least 80% (I think I remember those numbers from the manuals)

But this may be the resmed page PR is talking about.

Have no idea why the difference in the AHI because we don't know the breakdown of the AHI with either model. They didn't change the algorithm when they came out with the Airsense models. Unless maybe some fine tuning was done with the sensor reporting stuff.

Thanks for the replies.
Left at "auto" they both are supposed to do 80%. What made me feel like there was less initially was that my nose felt dry and I was a bit congested. After a another day of use I found that I was going through less water.

I will give the link a read.

Water consumption can and will vary simply with the changes in the ambient humidity.
On night's when it's raining or the humidity is higher than normal I might not use much water at all but the next night with no rain and ambient humidity is lower I might use up half to 3/4 the water in the chamber and not change the settings at all.

So you can't judge much based on just water consumption.

With identical settings, my Airsense gets me a wee bit wetter than the S9.
It uses the same amount of water, so it could just be my imagination.

That helps. At least I know it is different to some extent. Thank you all!
