Type of Machine
Type of Machine
Other than seeing everyone's signature line, how do I check out what people use for machines? I am in need of one and am looking online, but don't know what the most popular is! My dr. recommended an automatic pressure with humidifier. Other than that, I have no guidelines- is there somewhere on here where people post what machines they like? Thanks for your help for a newbie....

Click on the machine in anyone's signature, which will send you to the product page on cpap.com.
The two top machines are Airsense 10 Autoset by ResMed, and the Dreamstation Auto by Respironics.
Plug those two into the comparison feature, and read away.

Re: Type of Machine
thank you- I am still waiting for the prescription- I have "mild" apnea. I had a machine and a mask from a medical provider, but, because my deductible is so high and I am paying out of pocket, they gave me a really cheap machine that my dr. cannot even read the sd card from, and the mask I got from them made me uncomfortable. I ordered another mask ( the one with nasal pillows so it's not covering my nose and mouth) but decided to just get a new machine so I won't have to keep paying "rental fees" on a machine that my dr. can't work with. I will be paying out of pocket, in full, for the new machine, so budget is an issue as well...

What type of numbers should I be asking my dr for when shopping for a machine? Pressure settings, I think, what else?
