Mask noisy?
Mask noisy?
Help!! My husband has been using a sleep mask for almost 2 years. His first mask tended to make some noises and now he is on his second mask. The noises that come from this mask keep me awake at night. Its a gurggle sound coming from his mouth/nose area. It doesnt seem to bother him but keeps me awake at night. I also hear as if he is still gasping for air at times..is this normal? Any suggestions on how to get some sleep around here would be appreciated. He sleeps fine but its me who cannot tune these noises out
Re: Mask noisy?
The most important thing would be to insure he was getting the treatment he needs. You need the software to read the data from his machine to insure the leaks aren't making his treatment ineffective, also sounds like he may have a rainout problem, that can cause noise. Masks don't make much noise. JimBella123 wrote:Help!! My husband has been using a sleep mask for almost 2 years. His first mask tended to make some noises and now he is on his second mask. Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Re: Mask noisy?
The gurgling noise might be condensation in the mask or hose.

When I had it happen to me it was one of the few things that would wake my husband up.. Doesn't take but a few drops of water to make an awful racket.
Don't know about the gasping stuff but you need to see if the machine he uses has data available that can be evaluated to see if his therapy is sub optimal.
Exactly which brand AND model is he using? If you can't find a model name look for a model number on a sticker on the bottom or side of the blower part of the unit.
This is really important because some machines gather useful data and some don't. That's why we need brand and model name or number.
