Waking up

Post by Mr.Mar10s » Sun Aug 13, 2017 7:25 am

Hey!
I have a Phillips respironics.
So here's the situation. Recently I've been waking up tired and waking up in the middle of the night. Which clearly isn't normal. My mask and hose are about 2 months old so I feel that's nkt the issue. The water usage does not seem abnormal. So here my questions:
1) what else could it be? And how can I fix it?
2) could it be the hose and mask?
3) financially is it worth a repair or should I look into a different system?
4) where is a good place to get a new machine without having to go back to the doctors?

Appreciate all the advice, this community has unmeasurable more experience with this than I have.

What makes you think the machine is the problem and needs replacing?

Have you used available software to see if anything is standing out screaming fix me and you will feel better?
There's more available that can point to potential reasons for poor sleep than what shows on the LCD screen or the DreamMapper website.

Sometimes we have stuff going on that is unrelated to sleep apnea and/or the machine.

Do you take any meds of any kind, if so what?
How many hours of sleep are you averaging?
How many wake ups are we talking about during the night that you remember.

And if you've gained even a very little weight recently that could be an issue - it's amazing how little it takes to make a difference.

Never used any software. Any advice on how to do that?
I've had the same machine for 4/5 years now and this is the first time I've had this experience. My wife said I was snoring, which hasn't happened since before Cpap. And when I wake up, I'm up. So it's usually once.

Software options.

I suggest SleepyHead...you are using a Respironics machine and Respironics Encore software is a huge PITA to install and use.

How to use it

If you are snoring per wife then you may just need a slight pressure adjustment upwards.
All depends on your current settings.
Easy to fix and no need to worry about different machines unless you just want a different machine for some reason.

There's a wealth of information available from the machine.
See here for examples.
