Installing Sleepyhead

Post by CUatX » Fri Aug 04, 2017 7:58 pm

First of all, read my sig line!

What should I expect when installing Sleepyhead? Does it take this old goat by the hand (hoof?) and lead him through, or are there going to be some hassles like unzipping files and such?

I'm running (don't laugh -- I like it) Windows 7 and Firefox.

Thanks in advance.

It's pretty simple really. You download the zipped folder (at least I think it is zipped but it's been a while) ..unzip if you need to...click on it to start the install and it pretty much does everything for you if you let it.
Installs like any other software and you don't have to go opening folder and looking for app exe files or anything like that.
We have in past Beta versions had to use app exe files to launch the program but not this Beta version.
It has a few minor bugs but they are very minor and unless you start doing some deep digging stuff you probably won't even notice them.

I am not sure how much is covered about the actual installation but you can check this out.

Should work fine on Windows 7. That's what I had on this computer until I upgraded to Win 10.
Some people's Windows is missing a little dll file...if you get a message about a missing file come here and tell us exactly what the message is and we can figure out what is missing.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.

Hey, I'm running Windows 7 and don't plan to go to 10 until I buy a new computer in a year or so (and only then because I probably won't have a choice). I also have my old XP set up in another room as a backup (I run my own business have have backups to everything). I use Firefox and Chrome. I can't remember the exact process I went through installing Sleepyhead, but I do remember it was easy!

Do be sure to read the "beware" thread... and my sig before paying attention to the previous poster.

Okay! Thanks, folks.

I'm really not all that non-digital, as I've downloaded software for Arduino and numerous other ham radio related applications. I just hate going into an install process and running into unforseen speedbumps and roadblocks.

FWIW, the guru who builds and sets up my computer has many business clients who are taking the "pry it from my cold dead hands" approach to giving up Win 7. To them, Win 10 just ain't worth the hassle. Definitely no love lost for Kommissar Gates there. Da?

Now totry to get some answers on the new data my AirSense 10 is giving me.

I'd rather share with Gates than Putin!

they need to beware of you and your lies

i post facts
you want them to believe nonsense
your "facts" often have little, if anything, to do with reality.

Okay, got it installed, no problems. Will read the SD card later and play with the program.

Thanks, folks!
