It's official; eighteen years on CPAP!

Post by D.H. » Sun Jul 23, 2017 8:49 pm

It was July 1999 when CPAP #1 arrived. I'm now on #4!

It was much larger and much noisier than my current one. It was the only model on the market at that time with a built-in or integrated humidifier. It had a three-prong plug, which was a nuisance for international travel, given that the manufacturer warned me not to use it ungrounded. It was dual-voltage, which some of the models on the market at the time were not! It did not have altitude compensation (automatic or manual), leak compensation, or any type of tracking except for an odometer that tracked blower hours!

people say i'm self absorbed.

It was about that time I should have been put on CPAP but my jumpy legs stole all the attention in my sleep studies. Congrats on 18 years!

Yay! Congratulations for making it thus far!

Oh, and the masks!! My sister's mask looked rather like a diver's mask.
